We ve also been playing The Battle for Middleearth 1. I would like to play the other two games in the anthology but im looking for one at a good price.

Prior to this we ve been addicted to Enemy Territory Quake Wars online. Great fun although Im not a Supreme Commander yet.
I've been looking at real-time strategy games recently. I've only played C&C: Red Alert 1. I'm considering one of the Dawn of Wars, or maybe Battle for Middle Earth 2.

I'm trying to not play WoW. So I've been playing Civ4, and have a marathon of The Office. /sigh.

I can highly recommend Dawn of War the first edition.... graphically its not as good as the latest version but its more fun to play.

Machinarium.

Point-and-click puzzle adventure by a small Czech company. The artwork is absolutely fantastic and it's only 15 euros.

I bought Dawn of War 1 on Amazon Marketplace for £0.01. Yes, a penny.

It's the shipping that gets you, CJ. :-P

Normally, yes. Fortunately the shipping was £1.94, which brings the total to £1.95. At today's exchange rate, that's about $3.00 US. :D

I quit playing games for a while to concentrate on looking outside...going outside...and stuff. But now I'm intermittently, still, playing Mother 3 and, once I'm done with that, will work on my Pokemon collection...

There are virtual versions of this. And several are more fun than the real thing. And some aren't, but things happen faster than their real life counterparts (Harvest Moon).

I was in that same boat, too. Arkham Asylum was my 2009 must-have, but I could really care less about it now.

My husband was the one who coerced me into agreeing to buy Borderlands. I really wasn't excited for it. At all. I (grudgingly) gave it a try one night and we've been playing just about every night since (about a week and a half now).

Single player is pretty mediocre. But multiplayer is where this game really shines. The enemies get a lot tougher, drop better loot, and it's really just ever so much fun shooting things and running things over. Don't get me wrong, there's strategy to it, else you'll just get pummeled. But it's pretty straightforward and addicting as hell.

Think of Borderlands as the lovechild between Diablo (except FPS) and Thunderdome.

Geez, everyone's playing DoW now. 5 years ago I couldn't pay someone to play with me.

Anyone want to set up a DoW night (either 1 or 2) message me and we'll pick a night. I have night classes and a 3 year old, so yes, I have to schedule my game time. :p

Dawn of War. An RTS game based on the Warhammer 40k universe. Probably the best RTS ever.

I'm starting to get the hang of Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. I'm still pretty bad at the campaign, but I'm a lot better than I was a few hours ago. I also had my first foray into Versus without being killed seconds after spawning. I was beginning to think the Versus mode would be either very hard or very ordinary, which would have been disappointing. Fortunately it seems to work very well, though I'm not sure about the maps yet. The balance is nice.

I wish I could play shooting games. =( I'm just truly terrible at them. I can't aim, I'm uncoordinated. It's really a sad thing to watch. What was the game I used to play with my ex? I think there was something Pandora......ah! Splinter Cell Pandora or something. In any case, I sucked at it. I don't know if there's some trick to shooting games that I never learned or what.

I'm not a great shot either. I used to be, back when I used to get together with friends two or three times a week to play long Goldeneye sessions. Now I'm a fairly poor shot, at least when I have to aim quickly. I'm improving, but it takes weeks and weeks of being killed embarrassingly easily.

Sounds like you played Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow. I've never played any of that series, though I have friends who love them.
