Bah. I don't play online online, per se. I usually set up a private campaign with some friends. ;) I could never get the hang of being an infected.

Ah, I see. Well since I don't have any friends who own it, I haven't tried that yet.

You know, you should try playing Versus sometime. It's quite hard, but there are some moments of hilarity that you don't get anywhere else. It's quite satisfying hiding behind a chimney and then vomiting off the edge of the roof onto someone's head as they run by. :)

I've only played the campaigns solo, and replayed two of them split-screen with one of my housemates. I imagine playing the campaigns through XBL is quite different...

I have this game on my mac... nothing in this world scares me.....
Except Zombies...you will probably think im a puss but my single player play on this game has yet to get my nerve up to leave the roof... ive stood on the edge and killed the zombies in the alley.. they were all slow and i opened the door to go down stairs and sure enough..there were two zombies stumbling around so i shot the first one..went down with a stomach shot ...and the second one i tried that with took the shot and Raced up the stairs at me .I head shot it but couldnt work up the nerve to continue...what a pussy huh? I like the Romero feel better.. these guys are way too fast for a zombie... but like i said..nothing makes me Nervy like zombies do. I will eventually try to get off the roof but man... I even had a hard time playing resident evil on ps1 all the other monsters.... no problem but give me a slow zombie and i piss my digital pants.... My mom says its probably because she saw night of the living dead while she was pregnant with me and Ran freaking out all the way home..

I was really jumpy when I first started playing Half-Life 2, especially in the night-time zombie town level, but I eventually got into it.

L4D sounds like something I might like, but these days I'm not sure I'd put the time in and get through it if I bought it.

The campaigns are pretty short. You can get through each campaign comfortably in under ninety minutes, I'd say.

Versus is pretty interesting though. Playing as the infected is a unique experience.

I just ordered Left 4 Dead 2 - my birthday is coming up - from the UK. the reason for this is because Australia refused a classification for the game based upon it's level of violence and gore. Valve then released a censored version, which makes zombies vanish as soon as they die, they don't burn, no removal of limbs, and you cannot see zombie riot cops to kill. However, the UK version is uncensored.

Everything is better in the UK. ;)

And in America, biatch. That said, I want a new comp so I can play Modern Warfare 2. I'm still skeptical if Left 4 Dead 2 is worth 50$. I never liked the fact that Valve belted it out so fast, like a Madden NFL game.

I payed $50 Australian, which means it's around $45 USD at the same company. But it is worth it, from what I hear.

Everything I've heard is good, though I still think they could have put it all in one nice update (or several). Valve is known for long-term support of their games, only making sequels every few years. But eh, whatever. Again, it's Valve--I own all their games, will own this one too eventually.

Lord Foul wrote:I hope. I heard one review say there's only 4 maps, and only 2 of them they want to replay again and again... I'll have to scour more sources, but Valve's such a reputable, high-quality company, I'll probably buy it no matter what and enjoy.
Four maps? Are you serious? There are five campaigns each with several maps. More special infected, more multiplay modes, etc etc.

Ah, campaigns (chain of smaller maps, like last game, of course...). And stop quoting me so quickly--was editing, damn it. :P

 My apologies.

There are five campaigns. One of which is said to be outstanding (set in a theme park).

Wow. I wonder if this over-the-top censorship applies to New Zealand? Wait a minute...If you simply downloaded it over Steam...would the region based censorship apply anyway? They know what country you're downloading from, but still, its not being sold from a store in-country.

If you download it from steam it's region-locked, and therefore censored in Australia. However, if you purchase it from another country where it is not censored the game will be uncut.

I intend to get Left 4 Dead 2, but I think I need to wait until Christmas. I don't think my current finances would survive the hit. I rarely pay more than £10 for a game. :D

Sounds like you have a Wii. No, that wasn't a penis joke...

Lore--of course, let me know how the game is. It will most likely influence my future purchase (or lack thereof!).

I'll probably get L4D when it drops a little lower in price. I'm with Black Hawk I wish you could choose between Slow Zombies or Fast Zombies.

The game is frakkin' awesome, and even better if your friends are sitting next to you when you play :)
