Yes, that is fine (and completely sensible) - but the pictures here are not for real, they're just fun, not meant to be taken seriously and certainly not as an affront to the dignity of women any more than hulking male warriors like Conan were supposed to imply that all men were thick, brutish and violent.

Ahh Peter that brings me back to my original point, it is fiction and the pictures are for fun, but then my question was why do they always have to be dressed slutty (pardon the blunt language). And the answer as proven by the next posted picture is they do not have to be. I would not have asked the question had I not seen multiple pictures that were put that way. I agree that not all men are brutish and that does not sit well with me either. However, if I can take the liberty to show you something and figure out how to put it on here, I will make my point.

The women in the pictures at the links above are warriors in their own right and what some men, including my husband, believe are beautiful women, yet they are clothed. That is all I asked in my original posting..why do they have to be scantily dressed. Answer: They don't have to be.

Good point peter, but I (a man) feel that there should be a certain amount of respect for women, even in these forums.

As (of course) do I Thor, but I find nothing disrespectful in the depiction women as raw Amazonian beauties in a fantasy setting, for that is exactly what it is - a fantasy, where these women warriors of power and skill are proud not only of thier fighting prowess, but of their sensuality as well.

Thank you Thor for fixing the pictures. I am sorry that I did not put them in there right. I will learn the site and learn how to post actual pictures soon. Peter I am glad you liked the pics. I could think of no one better then Liv to prove my point as she is a favored character in that series. I look forward to debating other topics with the members on this site. You all are great to talk with.

I am almost on my next book in the series and can't sleep for fear that I am missing some really good action in the book I am currently on. I think I am gone hook-line and sinker when it comes to these books. I am thoroughly enjoying them.

The need to "kick butt in a war" should not be sexist at all.

I agree. It has nothing to do with sex. It should be an issue of strength. If you can't throw me (or my son--since I have no intention of volunteering) over your shoulder after I've been wounded and carry me to safety, I wouldn't want you in combat. Most women are relatively weak, compared to most men. It's not sex. It's upper body strength. Weak men have no place in combat, either.

Women, men, and their children should be willing to fight for freedom, civil liberties, and other things that they believe in.

Children should fight in wars? Are you talking about the sub-18 children? Or the "my son, the soldier" children?

Yes, I as a mother of a couple of children, would worry about my children if they went to war, but their safety and freedom should not be more secure because of someone else's fighting then mine should be. If the need arises I am going to protect what is mine and my loved ones by talking or force if necessary. My blood and fighting and that of my families is no more or less valuable then any other families and will be used if called upon to protect and defend what I find precious and valuable to me and my family. However, I will be dressed in appropriate attire as I am trying to fight not have sex or distract them.

Let me help you out...I have actually have contacted the Army and tried to go into the current war and sign up. However, they do not want me at this time. But yes if they every say yes..I will damn sure be there. And yes women are some of the time weaker then men, but I could damn sure get the job done and get you out no matter how I did it. If I get a go, I am gone.

Fantastic. That's definitely more than I can say myself, since (as I admitted) I have no intention to volunteering. And yes, I hold myself to the same standard I mentioned above for women (and weak men). I'm certainly in no shape myself to be a soldier.

I admit I didn't think you were serious, when you mentioned in the same breath that children should fight, too. But you certainly proved me wrong in that regard. Good job.

Sorry Wayfriend. I should not have allowed my emotions regarding these issues get in the way of my main point. I will do my best to make sure that never happens again.
