In the second chronicles we meet the Nicor race, giant sea-serpents reputed to be the descendants of the Worm (at world's end). The Nicor are are influenced by drumming the giants perform.
We're told that if the Worm was opposed with white gold, the most potent magic in the Land it would have torn the world asunder and the outcome would have still been uncertain. But perhaps a better way is possible.
Linden and her friends must create a heavy rock band with her friends and perform a groovy concert for the Worm to calm it down. No other solution seems possible but the difficulties are many.
Covenant would be reluctant to give a heavy drumming for fear of injuring his fingers. the Masters are too self restrained to give in to the music, Linden has only one stick with which to beat a rhythm, and there is going to be one giant who will disrupt the tempo whenever he can. Can they do it?
