You are a kind person, Mr. B.Mr. Broken wrote:Not exactly sure what you guys are referring to, but I dont really need a Josh Cribbs Fat Head, if it would help I would trade it for good health for all of you, and maybe one of those mini Fat Heads. Go Browns!
In explanation, I refer you to this post in the Hall of Gifts. It is inside the Stephen C. McKinney Memorial Thread (1969-2001), which is a thread started by Watch member Furls Fire in memory of her brother, and is a breath taking read in and of itself.
But the particular post I refer you to is the beginning of a continuing storm which Furls is facing. It is still ongoing. It starts on page 71 of the thread, and continues through the current page, page 116.
Such beauty is contained within those pages, as is contained throughout that entire thread. I strongly feel what we are referring to can not be summed up; you should read the thread to understand. It is a lot and it is overwhelming, both from the post I linked, and from the start of the thread.
But it is my opinion you will not find more beauty elsewhere on all of the Watch.
Should you choose to read either from the post onward, or the entire thread, my advice is to not attempt to do so all at one go...

Thank you, Menolly. I thought to say something similar, but you put it far better than I would have.
Broken, I am a former Cleveland resident and lament the state of the Browns, but Furls Fire is a treasure whose restored health is greatly to be desired.
As she would say, His Will Be Done, but I have strong hopes for what that Will might hold for her and those of us who follow Stephen's thread.

"The acceptance of the gift honors the giver." Im not sure how accurate my quote is but that is unimportant, so here is another, flawed Im sure but you'll get the point "Joy is in the ears that hear." Ill gladly forego the fathead in exchange for the humble pie, and the realization that Ive already received more than I could have hoped for this year. So I will relay my story to you, in the hope that you all may find some comfort in it.
Some of you may already know that on Sept. 16th my wife gave birth to twin girls. By far the most significant event of my life to this point. What you wont know is what a long drawn out affair the labor was , and how terrifying it was for me to realize that at any given time I could have lost all three of them. 16 hours after being induced the babies still had not arrived . Finally an emergency C-section was performed , and my two beautiful daughters were born , pink, and perfect. My wife recovered quickly , and now I have become a "Family Man". Life has never been better, but appreciation is a lesson learned slowly. Sometimes it takes knowledge of someone elses trials , and tribulations to teach it.
So Furls Fire , even though we dont know eachother, I want you to know that you and your family will be in my thoughts in the days to come, and Menolly, even though Im sure it was not your intent, thanks for the pie.

It's okay, Mr. B. Maybe the rest of us should be whacked for turning your lighthearted thread into something more serious...
In a more lighthearted vein, then, I'd like a pile o'cash for Christmas. Or, failing that, a box of almond toffee.

My intent was merely to inform and enlighten...

So let's see...
Other than a healthy Furls, I guess I would like the ability to be with all those I love. Without conflict, turmoil, exasperation or guilt.
That will do.

Yeah, that's all any of us want. Mom to be healthy, or at least free of pain.
My brothers, sisters and I have all foregone the usual "Santa" gifts this year. Instead, we have all decided that having Mom with us was the greatest gift of all.
Merry Christmas, Everyone!

And there is no one to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love
For Mom--
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.
Fly...fly high against the sky...
Thank you, thank you, thank God for you
The wind beneath my wings
