Bannor chicken? how very dare you, he did abandon the lords however when they needed him most on the dubious pretext that the vow had been corrupted cos three bloodguard went a bit nuts and decided to take foul on after a sniff of the illearth stone. Bannor saved enough asses to over the years to retire in the Haruchai Hall of Fame, Outside defeating Ak-Haru-Kenaustin-Ardenol --- Brinns role as Guardian of TC cannot compare to what Bannor went through with him, I will name the two most important in my memory , In LFB when Bannor Jumped into the black abyss after TC and the Urvile, not knowing if he was jumping to his death and saved him from Drool Crushing him and taking his ring, then the second big instance of some awesome life saving In TIEW, he kept TC from Drowning while he steered a boat through an underground Mountain River.

when it comes to the defense of Revelstone,
Even an doubtful bloodguard would be better help than a sheepherder or a blacksmith etc. but their vow was broken.. the Bloodguard live by pure service.. like alot of perfectionists they choose to move on rather than work with something broken or something that cannot be fixed. for all I know the Earthpower could have withdrawn itself from the Haruchai bond and thats how they knew their time was done. I dont know if the Bloodguard actually made the decision themselves, Bannor started Aging alot within the seven years that had passed since TCs last visit.

and then when its all over, how do you say " why would you leave us in our time of need???? you spent 1500 years or more working with us without a wife or Sleep after Kevin betrayed you, you should have quit then not now.... and when we're about to be between a rock and a Raver your saying its time to go???

Bannors Commitment was to the Lords, TC and eventually to himself and the Ranyhyn, but for 1500 years more or less his commitment was to the Lords.

Bannor is The Land's equivalent to Star Wars' Wedge. Hero or coward? Looks like a hero, but there's enough naysayers to cast a doubt on his motives.

I'm with BH on this - What was it that Brinn said to TC that would apply 100 times more to Bannor, "Have we not served you well - then let it end."

And Bannor a coward - have we been reading the same books!
