Has anyone else had severe issues downloading patches with Windows 7?

It's taking about 4-5 hours to get patches that took 10 minutes on Vista or XP. I've been through all my firewall permissions and security and can't find anything wrong. :?

I've almost never been able to download a patch at any decent speed (on XP here) - only the very smallest ones. I just use patch mirrors for direct download, usually from this site:

I might have to try that. I know there's a way to copy patch files onto a flash drive and just transfer them from computer to computer, but the only file I can find on my hard drive is the wow-3.2.2-to-3.3.0-enUS-Win-patch. I'm stuck on v3.0.1.8874 and I'm at 55% on the Call of the Crusade patch after over 4 hours.

All of my patches apart from two are in the main WoW folder.

I don't think you always need to copy the patches, you can copy your entire wow folder and it should run. I don't know if the operating system change stops that working, though.

It needs some progress updates.

In unrelated news, here's something else they left out of patch notes:

Unattended mounts at Krasus Landing will be towed.

The blue drake now drops from a special loot bag only available when you complete Oculus as a random heroic, and the Azure Drake now drops from 10 man Malygos. :!!!:

They also just hotfixed Halls of Reflection. Yesterday they made the gear requirement higher, today they mde it so you never get two mercs or mages at once, and retuned the rest to be less difficult.

Also, they just announced the end of arena season in two weeks, with s8 starting the week after (so that'll be the week Toravon unlocks).

New on the list of "Things Kysen Can Solo": the first two bosses of Pit of Saron (Normal).

Did you know normal mode dropped emblems? I never noticed before.

This seems like a decent guide to share:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgDjG_0ecTI

Now, I myself don't go for the spamming keys method, I watch the laency bar on my casters and just keep up with the GCD on other things (unless I've been pvping a lot, that tends to get me in the habit of spammnig constantly to get stuff off). I also don't have addons that keep track of all the procs and things like this guy does. But it's still some useful advice.

Maredrek/Kynbrodis has been hacked, and despite restricted access the hacker has cleaned out three tabs of the guild bank.

OMG 8O

How did that happen? I thought access was restricted to prevent exactly that from occuring!! Hopefully the GM can restore what was lost.

And poor Mare! :( He worked so hard getting his toon geared. Reinforces the need for everyone to get and use an authenticator!
