Oh, and just one more thing: '1000 Words' FMV.

Yeah, that was ok, but it would have been better if they had some decent music.

What?!!! That was the best FMV sequence ever! And the music fit perfectly! How dare you!?!

Seriuosly, though, I must have watched it five or six times already at the sphere theatre, heh. It really is a great FMV, and I didn't have any probs with the song (not the type of music I listen to, but still a good song, and gave the right mood for the vid).

[Edit - Oh, and IMO, 'real Emotion' (song from opening FMV) was better in japanese (heard it on a preview I got with Unlimited Saga)]

Here's me dredging out old threads. So, Murrin, how do you feel about it now?

Me, I've never finished a Final Fantasy numbered game. You could argue that FFX-2 is one of them, but most people don't agree. I've played through a lot of them, but the only games I actually did finish that are Final Fantasy related are the tactics games, and FFX-2. And I finished FFX-2 at least twice, and got the perfect ending. I just love the battle system in it - I think it worked better than most other FF games. But I know I'm in the minority.

The battle system isn't much different from FFVIII, FFIX or FFX. The professions part is more like older games, though.

These days I pretty much never make it through a game from beginning to end, anyway. I never completed FFXII, or any FF before FFVIII.

Good enough game. The whole 'Girl Power' thing made it rate a little below X for me.

I've beat every one except I, II, IX, and XII (though of the non-numbered, I've only beat Dissidia). I've never been a 100% guy, but I have gone out of my way for some things like the Barret/Cloud scene or the spoon dagger.

I kinda feel like I misjudged XII. The game suffered from a lackluster advancement system, a weird and imbalanced limit system, and a SLOOOOW opening. But it was kind of a gutsy move. The gambit system was completely brilliant. ALL of the pleasure I got from that game came from making clever scripts for my allies to follow in combat.

X-2 - My final verdict was that it was pretty fun, but kind of lightweight after X. Building a game out of the less interesting characters in X was kind of a deal breaker for me.

The only square/enix game I particularly liked for the PS2 was Dragon Quest 8, (and 10, somewhat) It's the only one I see myself playing again. Wheras I have probably played 7 close to two dozen times now.

Dragon Quest 8 was great, but I think you have the wrong Square/Enix franchise. 9 is slated to come out soon in the US on the DS, and 10 has been announced for the Wii.

As a middle aged woman gamer, FFX-2 seriously peed me off! X is my favourite FF game but the whole 'Charlie's Angels' theme just made me angry!

And why is my Yuna so rubbish? I had her with the celestial weapon in X, she was doing 20,000 to 40,000 damage with Holy

It's the only FF since 7 that I haven't completed yet (aside from 13, which I'm struggling with at the moment.
