Geez, is that legal? Wouldn't the Test of Truth police have anything to say about it? :-)

I don't think catching it is the point, you've got to hold on to it, and if you can't do that with your hands then your probably gonna have a bit of a hard time with you head :D

Truth?

Post by Zephalephelah »

If people aren't honest with themselves then how do they know what the truth is in the first place?

Trell knew the truth & chose to fail. Triock knew the truth & chose to triumph as we all would desire to have victories over evil. Atiaran knew the truth & failed (in my opinion). Elena knew the truth & failed. Morham knew the truth & conquered!

But this is a book. It's easy to find people in a book who know the truth about themselves. It's much harder in real life. If you don't know what you are capable of, then how can you be true? In that case, they should call it the test of luck.

This reminds me of a quote from Seinfenld's George Costanza:"It's not a lie if you believe it" :screwy:
Dandelion don't tell no lies
Dandelion will make you wise
Tell me if she laughs or cries
Blow away dandelion

I'm afraid there's no denying
I'm just a dandelion
a fate I don't deserve.

Which brings to another point, if human takes lie test, and human thinks thing is true, will human pass lie test?

(I'm a Catteni this week. Just bear with me, will ya?)

If human believes thing is true, and is not, human is not truely lying.

(I mean geez, I have to act like airline food-- shapeless and uninteresting.)

Tikso giban crath?

(Anyone follow what I'm sayin'?)

Turiya, do you by any chance eat moldy bread on a regular basis? Or live near a barn where moldy wheat is stored? Or cowpatties even?

As a few years have gone by and I've had plenty of time to consider the possibilities I'm convinced I would not pass the test. I think mainly because anyone from this world couldn't possibly measure up to the standards of those native to the Land. By comparison we would probably have more in common with Lord Foul's minions as Covenant seemed to. And of course we wouldn't have the notable advantage of having a white gold ring.
Actually my wedding band is white gold but I'd still fail. :-)

Well, ole' Tommy
Spoiler
is the white gold, regardless of whether he has the ring or not, though others can use his powers when they hold the white gold...
, so though I believe I'd fail the test too,
Spoiler
if the creator sent me there, then I too would be the white gold, and no one else could use it...though I also probably wouldn't know how either... ;)
...i think.

I already passed the test of thuth..

In fact, I can't let go of the Rod..

(I knew I should have cleaned off the Gorilla glue off my hand before I tried the test.)
What's this silver looking ring doing on my finger?
