After scanning my other favorite board this morning I came across a reference to a thread on a Ravens message board, about Ravens fans expressing their displeasure over the Indianapolis Colts honoring Johnny Unitas ( former Baltimore Colt) and some of the history of the team when they played in Baltimore. Now as a Browns fan I should be able to sympathize with these disheartened, betrayed fans, but I do not. Just remember Ravens fans it was apathy, and disinterest that cost you the Colts, the Browns moving to Baltimore was outright theft. You will never achieve happiness by taking it from someone else. Animosity felt by Browns fans towards the Ravens, and the City of Baltimore will never dissapate, but hopefully it will inspire some very good football in the future.

Plus, people don't know, or tend to forget, that the City of Baltimore was in the process of trying to acquire the Colts by right of 'eminent domain' which is the main reason Irsay disappeared in the middle of the night.
I would probably do the same if the gubmint was about to take my business from me.
And on another note... (correct me if I'm wrong) but Modell was willing to keep the Browns in Cleveland if he got a shiny new home. The city said no. So he left. And when Cleveland said we want another franchise, the NFL said... only if you build a shiny new home. And the city said ok.

Your not (wrong that is), but there is a clear differrence between the two situations, the city of Cleveland wasnt after the Browns, I can tell you no one really thought they were gonna leave. Browns fans thought that in the end the Browns would stay. The city didnt have the money to build this shiny new home, and thats what makes Modell's move worse. He got bribed away to Baltimore.Dromond wrote:Plus, people don't know, or tend to forget, that the City of Baltimore was in the process of trying to acquire the Colts by right of 'imminent domain' which is the main reason Irsay disappeared in the middle of the night.

Mike Holmgren (our new Top Dawg ) has been reluctant to address the topic of who next years starting QB will be. This has led both insiders, and outsiders to believe that next seasons starter is not yet on the Browns roster. A big time trade is imminent, rumored names include Donovan Mcnabb, Troy Smith, Kevin Kolb, and yes Steelers fans Dennis Dixon is also a possible target. The Browns have 11 picks at least in this years draft, that in itself gives them alot to work with as far as trade bait.

Good start. I wouldn't go with anyone on the roster either. Trade for a decent vet, draft a high QB plus others might turn into a Dallas like franchise! I would love to see a return to Otto like form for the Browns.Mr. Broken wrote:Mike Holmgren (our new Top Dawg ) has been reluctant to address the topic of who next years starting QB will be.
