That's what I hear... my roommate and I saw DD about eight years back and had a good time debating it until we came up with what we thought was a good explanation. When the director's cut came out, my roommate saw it and thought it was crap mainly because it spoon fed the audience the answers. As a result, I never saw the director's cut (besides, my roommate says we figured the meaning anyway )
