Ronald Howes, RIP
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

That's so sad!
There aren't many people who could've figured out that you could cook a two-bite cake from the heat generated by a 100-watt light bulb.
Oh man, I just thought of something: When everything switches to LED -- and it will -- we'll be telling our grandchildren about light bulbs that burned so hot, you could cook food with them. Holy cow.
