The IT Crowd
Has anyone else seen this show, in its original British incarnation? I know that they tried to make an American version (and a German version, for that matter) but that both failed to capture the spirit of the original... it's a relatively recent series, which started out in 2006 and has had three 6-episode seasons thus far. AFAIK, they'll have a Christmas special today, and a fourth season in 2010. It's extremely hilarious, and it's a work sitcom focusing on the IT department of a large multinational corporation.

I just finished Season 1 on streaming Netflix. Thankfully, they have the next two seasons as well. I think it was the Red Door episode that really made me realize this is something special.

The IT Crowd is something special.. But you get that with Graham Lineham, he's a awesome writer of TV comedy. Father Ted and Black Books are also his creation, so check 'em out! Though I doubt that there's people out there who haven't seen Black Books...

I'm a latecomer to the IT Crowd. It was suggested to me by a co-worker about a year ago and I just didn't get around to watching until a few days ago. Once we got started my wife and I devoured the entire series in two days time. Now we both feel cheated as we loved the show but like eating a prized desert down to the last spoonful we are left wanting more. Only the series finale, which is not available on Netflix, is left for us to watch but after that its time for some mood elevating drugs to get over the loss.
Great show!
Great show!

I tried watching one episode, and that first line is traumatizing...
"Have you tried turning it off and back on?"

I remember having that exact exchange with Murrin some time ago, probably around the Super Bowl.aTOMiC wrote:Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
Speaking of Superb Owls, anyone watching What We Do in the Shadows? Great spiritual successor, and also Max Barry.

"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”
