Just me being ridiculous, but oranges?

Hey, I don't have the books here with me, so shoot me if you need to, but I was, for some inane reason, thinking about the First Chrons yesterday, the part where Covenant meets Foamfollower, and remembering the details of their trip and I had a thought. Covenant gets to the Land right at the beginning of spring, do I remember that correctly? And within just a couple days, he heads off with Atiaran to Revelstone, right? So if it's early spring, how did Foamfollower have oranges on his boat? Isn't Seareach way north of Mithil Stonedown? Ha, see, I told you it was ridiculous.........

Maybe the land around the grieve was capable of growing fruits out of season. On the farm where I worked on my oranges gave friuit as long as they were well tended.

I think the fruit must have came from Andelain. Foamfollower was in that region prior to Covenant and Atarians' appearance.

In the Power That Preserves, Foul's winter had gripped the Land from East to West, and yet the Ramen were able to eat food served on banana leaves. Andelain is the heart of the Land, it's last bastion. I don't believe winter ever reaches into Andelain, typical of a magical world.

I'm going with Orlion on this one. For some reason I always had the image of dried fruit segments being a staple food all over the land whenever they eat. You never seem to hear about them tearing the legs off a roast chicken anywhere

Just to be a geek the book does say Covenant "washing the salt out of his throat with sections of a tangerine" and later "satisfied his thirst with tangerines." therefore not dried fruit.

Krazy Kat may have hit the nail on the head. Although I thought Foamfollower had not been to Andelain before. I must be mistaken about that one. Oh, well, whatever, I'm just nitpicking details anyway.

I don't know for sure if he was there or not, but when the unfettered one helps Covenant and Atairan at the Celebration of Spring he is described briefly as being a hulking figure.

Foamfollower could also be described as a hulk; but making a connection, of the two with the same word, doesn't make sense to me there.

And yet...the Wraith's of Andelain remind me of how sparks from a bonefire are blow on the wind. I've often wondered how the Wraith's might relate to the burning of Soaring Woodhelvanin...mmm, just thinking out loud!

If anything, the oranges are definitely a clue!

How many think like this? I can see the wraiths in a woodland fire but i see them as a immortal flame . with life emortal. does this make sense?
