So, just to keep you abreast of the current events in my life:

1) We put down an offer on a very okay condo in a highrise tower on the western edge of Seattle's U-District. We're going to want some work done on the place, so we're not expecting to move in until June 1st.

2) I've scheduled the GRE exam for April 22nd. That's approximately three weeks from now. There are a few, though not a whole bunch, of work things going on that might conflict, but mostly I'll be focusing all my time on that.

3) I've decided to shift my work schedule to East Coast times, in effect meaning that I'm on a team conf call at 5am my time. Obviously this is from home...the freakin' busses don't even open that early. But, it means I'm off work at 2pm, so I can spend 6hrs at the local Caffe Vita to get myself ready for this test.

4) After I take the test, I then have some final prep to do on the application, due May 1st, and I'm done. Should find out in like 8 weeks if I was accepted. Chances are good that as long as I don't totally bomb out, I'll be good. And, not to seem foolishly arrogant, I'm quite worthy. (That's my honest streak winning out over my humble streak.)

Anyway, what this means for me and you. I expect to give ~1hr per evening to the game. That will include:
1. Reading any posts
2. Reading any PMs
3. Responding to those PMs
4. Responding to any posts
5. Responding to other games I'm in

Generally posts will take priority, though at the moment, with two characters still not finalized, I'll be giving them more attention than the game in general. Of course, I expect to be able to handle both facets of the job just fine, with enough time to do so. Just wanted it listed somewhere what I've been doing recently, instead of posting.

After April 22nd, when the GRE is done, none of this should be an issue.

I've edited some of the disciplines with new powers. Specifically, Obtenebration, Quietus, and Serpentis have developed new effects. I left the old ones there, though the new ones are clearly better. You may choose one or the other power if you get to that level.

I also updated Celerity with the original interpretation, which is that spending a single blood point activates the power, granting you one additional action per dot of celerity. Having a high-level power that then costs you a huge amount of blood didn't seem very useful.

So, please note there is now a Scene 2 thread. We'll pick up from there, in the morning. Anyone has anything to do last night, drop it into the Scene 1 thread.

So, XP is due. (I must set up a reminder to myself to hand that out more regularly.)

Alina: 2xp
Johann: 2xp
Olaf: 2xp
Sabine: 2xp
Seska: 2xp
Taduz: 2xp

Since the story ended up excluding some of the players, I don't want to reward the others for anything spiffy... seems unfair. This represents one for the week, plus one for finishing up the storyline.

Just an FYI, I've created a Harrowing thread for each of you. When the time comes, you'll each split off and do your own personal hells. When we're done with all of those, I'll merge them back into the Scene 2 thread for ease of archiving.

The merging process just splices the posts in chronological order, so I'll likely put your character's names in my own posts, just so they'll make sense again once it's all merged.

Depending how long they are, it might be nice to leave them as their own threads for us to go back to read. Otherwise they're going to be disjointed. :(

Yeah, that's fair. I had assumed they wouldn't be quite long enough on their own to warrant keeping as distinct threads. But if that proves not to be the case, I'm fine with letting them stand on their own.

You may wish to consider merging them if the day comes for Av to archive them though. Hopefully that is a long time off yet...

If you edit a post, does the timestamp change? That could be a way to sort them by person if the merge is chronological.

I'm guessing not though.

I'd say keep em separate, that way we can reference them if needed, but consolidate them later.

Editing does not change the timestamp. It sometimes puts a comment at the bottom saying it was edited. I'm not sure why only sometimes.

p.s. - Like the new Avatar?

It's Sinfest FTW! I tried to comment on it last night to you, but you'd already logged off.

I think the comment about editing is added only if another post has appeared under the post that is being edited at the time it is being edited. If the post being edited is still the most recent post when it is edited, I do not think the comment appears. But I am also not sure about that.

That would make sense and match my vague recollection of when I've had an edit tag added.

(Oops. My half-elf almost became a vampire-to-be. I should have named everyone the same.)

Welp, looks like another day of studying down the drain. I bet you grateful bastards would just LET me blow off my test to keep posting like this, huh? Nobody STOP me or anything. Nobody insist that I get off my ass and go study instead of spending all day with an update.

The hardest part... well, the most time consuming part was finding all the stupid images. I literally was over 800 pictures with the word "gypsy" before I found one of a male. (There were a couple of some guy's Renaissance Faire costume, but since he was in bright daylight, I opted not to use them.) That said, there's a LOT of cute gypsy chicks out there on Deviantart

The Harrowing threads are now open, so go ahead and enjoy your own personal hells.

And, thanks to Taduz for transcribing the rules for Koldunic Sorcery. I've added them to its own thread, though might need to tweek the formatting a bit to match what Alina had done on the other disciplines.

I'm so sorry you had to look through 800 pictures of cute gypsies. :P

Well hello there, leech-lovers! Life has been a little slow in that other Prime, so I've popped in here for a bit of fun and amusement. All mine of course, you'll have to suffer, but from the looks of things you lot seem to enjoy that sort of thing. Don't despair. I'll be back to kick you when you're down.

****
♫ I'm going to sing you a song...

****
I saw a musical act the other day. A slight twist on Monty Python's classic called "Cut on my Face (and tell me that you love me)". It was dreadful.

My buddy Wen didn't mind. He got some 'alone' time with the singer. Said she's a real screamer.

cut... dread... scream... it's... oh nevermind.

****
♫ about a Viking strong...

****
A succubus goes to see her doctor. "Doctor, I can't sleep at night!"

The demon doctor is a little surprised. "How is that a problem? You don't need rest."

She looks distressed. "I know, but my adventuring group makes me take first, second, and third watches so they can get a full night's sleep. They sleep around more than I do!"

****
♫ with very little to say...

****
A vampire walks into a bar. The bartender, realizing what his customer is, becomes paralyzed with fright.

The vampire says, "Bartender! How did you know I wanted a stiff drink!?"
- Submitted by Seska K.

****
♫ but loves a good fight...

****
So the other day mom got a summons for jury duty. "Great, that's an hour of my life I'll never get back."

****
♫ which lasts a fortnight...

****
I had this great joke about a Nos. Unfortunately I can't seem to find it.

****
♫ 'cause he needs to post more. :P

****

G'night everybody. Remember to not stare at the sun. You've been a wonderful captive audience. (Thanks Claudio!)
