No fair! I go to sleep, and come back to a whole conversation happening around me.

For those PCs still on the Bridge, Garrius's departure without formal dismissal would count for the crew present as a dismissal. So, if you feel like having your PC depart and, perhaps, savour the sights and sounds of Footfall, do so. All Bridge staff with rec-leave will do that in a mad rush. Almost.

I would post a description to that effect, but I want to give Zarkov the chance to post a response to Peraton, if he wants.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

I get to go to the ball.

EDIT: Yes, I know that there are four invites other than Garrius. And that there are four players other than Dorian. But you never know... he could pull a dick move and invite Du Preste instead of Zarkov.

Five, actually . . .

Anyway, as the seneschal made clear, it's people of high social standing only. Inviting a non-noble might just encourage embarrassed stares and people whispering behind their gloves. Couldn't have the Rogue Trader become the laughing stock of the Ball, surely?

And I'm guessing that Zarkov and Malachi would rather swallow Ork teeth than go to a Masque Ball.

P.S. For those players that do attend, I fully expect them to come up with good costume concepts. The one Dorian suggested the other night was hilarious and awesome at the same time.

Drak-Kung would be a logical pick for security reasons, though taking your bodyguard into a party would just look weak.

And yes, she would just happen to have this with her on the ship. Mother always said to be prepared for society.

Plus, a full masque is the only time nobody can see the cyber. ANY excuse to put this getup on, she's all over it.

Anyway, the service staff could help make what she doesn't have.

I'm thinking of doing a PF roll, influenced by Fel to determine the social impact of PCs at the Ball.

That's a fantastic costume, btw. Where did you find the image?

I just Googled "venetian carnival costume". I've been kind of obsessing with the whole Venetian Mask imagery for the past few weeks anyway, so I knew there would be a lot of good things.

Kind of strange to have a fetish that involves the chick being completely covered in bulky clothes, but there you go. Probably less creepy than that gas mask thing Lore got me started on.

Liking chicks in gas masks... little bit creepy.

Then there's the intersect with latex-fetish nuns and gas-mask porn.

I just gotta say... I've discovered more about the dirty secrets of my own psyche from this family friendly 13+ site, than I did in college. And I explored a lot in college.

Latex fetish nuns are the shit. Or just hot nuns in particular.

I wish the nuns here in chch werent all whales from various far flung colonies of the former british empire.

The traditional Catholic nun look needs no latex augmentation for sexual attractiveness. That merely trivialises the erotic nature of the habit. Nun porn is simply one of the greatest cultural achievements of the last 200 years. However, latex/bondage nuns, nuns with fake breasts and tats are simply a heretical sect of nun porn which should be subjected to fires of purification - an abomination which degrades the simple wonder of its parent form.

But enough about nun porn. Back to RT.

I wasn't espousing a preference for latex nuns vs. regular nuns. Just expressing surprise that there was such a depth to the genre.

And, I'll leave you with this abomination.

I'm going to invent a vampire NPC, just so I can use that picture.
