Damn. Glad I don't have trouble sleeping.

Oddly enough, I'm finding that those drugs would let me sleep, albeit poorly, for about as long as I needed. But I quickly became unable to sleep without them. I've been weening off them recently, and now I'm taking naps in the afternoons and all kinds of cool stuff. Still, it was kind of useful to be able to stay up 40hrs whenever I wanted to, just by not taking my medz.

I just sent in one turn submission, back for the first turn. It said "I win."

I'm not sure why the rest of you keep spamming Syl's mailbox... you've already lost.

Had I submitted
I'd have not claimed victory
Only prescience

That way I might know
How each turn's results would go
And make plans to match
Yes, I am an alt
Whose? An open secret to

Knowing the future
Before it happens to you
Won't let you change it.

But at least you can
Get the party started, y'all.
End it with a blast.

I've had the results done for a few days now, but with school and the forum being dead, I haven't had the time to write them all out.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

We quietly await your beneficence, Autarch...

*wince*
WTH...
I was already informed this turn most likely is not going to go so well for me merely based on decisions I made. May as well let there be a more public reason...

May I ask why "the forum being dead" would take away time from writing results out? I would assume (yeah, yeah) that the opposite would be true...

If you guys are interested, I'm interested. My interest has a direct relationship to how much time I can allocate to getting it done.

Man...
c'mon Autarch!! I think we are all so cowed (at least I am anyway) by you saying you don't want us asking for hints, or how processing is going, or...

Well...

I know the deity game forums also get very quiet between submission and results, at least in my experience. I know for me, I want to see what did and did not work before posting publicly about it. I definitely do not want to assume anything before having results in hand.

I did post multiple non-DSP actions, and I delayed posting about one until closer to when I was thinking results would come out. But now until results come out I don't know what to post. Not without possibly having to go back and eat my words by saying something happened that didn't.

...ya know?

You should be cowed. I view it as asking for what you haven't earned. I even provided a way to earn it, and the silence following it has justified my original position.

Notice I did not stipulate that the forum activity has to be in character. Even if you believed that you needed results to play your character, which I do not, that is not an excuse here. I guarantee that if Xar processed turns on the same schedule I do, you'd be talking it up.

Posts that serve no purpose other than advancing the same interests you are pursuing in your submission do not count. Elaborating upon them would. Adding depth and nuance to the blank canvas that is the Acropolis, a city waiting to be filled by your words, would count. Sharing thoughts and ideas, giving other players ideas to work off of, giving rise to even more of your own - that would count.

If you want to play in a vacuum, that's fine. I've never been the most prolific poster in the games, so who am I to complain? But it's about more than just me, and it's about more than just you. It's about all of us, how we work to build something. It's even about what we add (and therefor must present) to the greater KW community. A gray forum engenders no interest - not from other players, not from lurkers, and not from me.

Which isn't to say I'm not interested. That's why you see me constantly fiddling with the rules, trying to find ways to make the game better, and so on. When it comes to the game in progress, though, I'm hands off. I've been told that is a refreshing aspect of the game. The only problem is that it doesn't work very well if the players are also hands off except for course corrections.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not trying to force or berate anybody. But I'm really f***ing busy, and a week should suffice to achieve the action that goes on here between results and submissions. If not, it's not like I've ever been a hard-ass about the deadline.

Now, since I've already killed off one priest... Who wants ear infections? Y'all are lucky Death took a holiday this month, because otherwise I'd be feeling a little Kai-ish right now.

Oh, stop. I didn't kill him. Maimed, maybe, but...

...oy...
That's even worse.

At least before there was some hope you were referring to a different priest...
...but considering what he was sent off to do, it makes sense it would have been him.

Sometimes the drama
That happens between results
More intense than game
