In the rules, I wrote:...However, a court of all the gods can be set up if established by a 2/3 vote of all the gods. Whichever god becomes the titular head has the honor of naming The Acropolis. In the grand scheme of things, however, this doesn't mean all that much.
As far as I'm aware, that hasn't happened yet. The King does not call the city anything other than "the city" or "The Acropolis."

In light of current events, I'm going to strike this rule. There will be a contest at a later date to determine the name.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

*sigh* Crap. Sorry, I forgot about that entirely. I figured the first one to come up with a name would get it by default. Heh. But really, there's a king who doesn't have a name for his kingdom? Or is it that his kingdom is more than the city, yet his capital doesn't have a name? Neither option makes sense to me. So, rather than delete at least four posts, or at least parts of them, let's just stick with Aditya, eh?

Nope, otherwise it would have been named long ago, I'm sure.

nuh-uh, unless Autarch insists.
Calling the city "Belonging to the Sun" by "default" or because of mistakes in posts just is not...fair to the others. IMO, anyway...

I like the posts just as they are. ;)
...'bout time I was correct about something in one of these games...

It means "belonging to the sun" on earth. Anyway, I'd say you've helped out Kai sufficiently. Nicely done.

For the name you chose, it's strange you insist on such a western tradition. ;) For all you guys know, the king doesn't have a name for himself. Think on that and be dismayed.

Um, no. Not until you win the contest. If you want a head start, find out how Athens got its name.

bah.
Deities always strive against each other, no?
Especially when it comes to reputation.
Doesn't necessarily mean it affects what happens with the mortals.

It is the mortals perception of the deities, through priests, sacrifices, and reputation, that counts. They needn't have any idea what the deities themselves say, unless it is said to their high priests or translated in to action in some way. Like naming the city "Belonging to the Sun."

At least, as far as I understand things.
Doesn't mean it is so, of course.

how we doing on keeping the forum hopping, Autarch?

It takes some chutzpah
To say someone sows dissent
While doing it first

Be presumptuous
Use this divisive name in
Unity sermons

It shall be written
And spread through Acropolis
So the Big Lie grows...

Mortal lips speak it
Over and over, until
They believe it True

Menolly, pretend I'm Montresor, eh? If Eztlicoatl had done it, Melody would have "Aditya" tattooed on her by now.

Nah. I'm more interested in how Aditya got its name. :D

Tats on Melody
Rule out proper burial
Not gonna happen

Still, intriguing thought
Rather gilding the lily
Quite nice as they are

Should be avoided

Have we been censored?
Tattoo location is gone
Kind of spoils the joke

Since no edit mark
In Fist's post, was it a mod
Who removed word "boobs"?

Mod privilege, I guess
But it seems a bit prudish
There was no harm done

People who live in lurker houses shouldn't throw stones, syllabically-metered or otherwise. I made a judgment call that does not detract from the poster's meaning while avoiding potential problems. Thanks for highlighting it, though.

Now, there will be no further talk on that subject except via PM to me or an admin. I will prove the aptness of my title and go former Tank Mod on anyone who seeks to try me on this point.

Off topic, I know...
Murrin wrote:<3 OK Go

Edit: Off topic, but wow, I just found the other version. Incredible!
Pulling Murrin's post from back in March, I just thought I would share this here for those who like OK Go. Probably already old news, but thought in case the actual interview had not been seen...

*sticking my head in to inquire*

Were there no other multiple non-DSP actions this month other than Virelai and Chime? I really do enjoy reading everyone's descriptions, or vague hints at least, of what they are up to each month.

Most of the non-DSP actions are covered, though some left things out.

I'll start processing this weekend. Some teasers:

- Not as much direct action against the invaders as I thought there'd be.
- looks like Virelai's priest will live
- someone is using their divine artifact to gather very useful information

hmm...
I know I was hoping Surya's action was enough to at least turn aside any threat...

Nice image, Darkness
But it's a bit too scrawny
And effeminate

The mask as loincloth
Is framed by two shapely legs
Feet balanced en pointe

Ah. I was hoping that was long buried. An avant-garde movie I made long ago.
