Vampire: Dark Ages - Scene 4: In the Halls of the Dead

[Dante Nachtzehrer]

"Come, boys, Gunter and Wolfgang is it? Madness, demons, you say? Is it proof you require that I am an instrument of God? Follow me, boys, into the castle, and I will show you the reality of the situation at hand." Dante ambles slowly up towards the castle, beckoning the crusaders behind him.

[Gedeminas]

[ooc]I'm assuming that Olaf will calm down, as I'll seem rather an idiot if he doesn't.

Seeing Olaf's lack of understanding of what Pierre is saying (I know he doesn't speak German), Gedeminas speaks to him again in Latin.

"Olaf, was it? I hope you will forgive me for asking a few questions. Do you know any languages commonly spoken in these lands? Or only Latin and your native tongue?
Also may I ask why you hate Frenchmen so much? Or why a strong Viking such as yourself is in these lands?"

[Olaf_Magnusson]

"Many are my quarrels with the Frankish dogs. Although this one seems to hew to honor....perhaps something of the Bastard's blood is in him., blood of our blood."

Shakes the extended hand, although a certain tension yet remains about his eyes.

[Sabine]

I miss Seska. She's nice. I go into the hallway to find her. I don't have hands, so I can't knock or open the door.

I mist under the door. I blend in with the steam from the bath.

In the Bathing Room

Vida spends some time running her fingers over the scales towards the center of the patch, caressing up and down Seska's spine. "I wonder what your husband will think?"

The steam in the room becomes a bit thicker.

Castle Giovanni

Wolfgang looks at Gunter, questioning. His brother shrugs and begins to follow the monk, so Wolfgang gets in line behind him.

Pierre's Room
-------------------

Pierre shakes Olaf's hand enthusiastically, still overjoyed at his new health. Again in his horrible mangled German, "Are you hunger? As well I also am hunger too. I hide myself. We are going to make hungry, yes?" He begins to put on his clothes, with a grimace of distaste at Giovanni's colors. He chooses to leave the tabard behind.

As he makes his way back down the hallway, he keeps turning back to make sure that Olaf is following him. He smiles constantly, and frequently dances a jig or spins fully around when he turns back to look. When he descends the steps, he hops from one step to the next, playful as a child. Seeing Olaf and Gedeminas watching him, he looks sheepish and says, "I will have thought that I could not never walk good any more. Very happy am I being that I was wrong."

[Sabine]

I'm hiding. You can't hear it, but I giggle from the corner.

[Seska Karantanija]

In the Bathing Room

Seska waves her hand to try and clear some of the steam obscuring her vision.

A small shiver runs up her spine from Vida's fingers and a wistful smile curls her lips as she answers, "He never was very fond of scaly things. I do believe it will be disincentive from having me perform some of my duties as Countess." She flicks water from the fingers of her left hand at Vida while giggling, "Maybe you would like to perform them in my stead, hmmm?"

Vida blushed, and hid her face behind her hand. "I will perform whatever punishment you'll have of me, Mistress." But the eagerness in her voice belied that it would be very punishing.

Our violent viking didn't beat the flouncing frenchman unmercifully?

I refocus my attention, then blink a few times noticing Sabine has left the room and...disappeared?

The spirits can't locate her? Guess I may have to take stronger measures with them at a later date.

Browsing the various rooms and peoples, I focus on Sigismond and what is going on around him, to see if he's on the level with us, or a lackey to Cur Claudio.

[Seska Karantanija]

She gives a laugh. "Do not fear, Vida. I would not ask it of you. Branimir is capable of providing for his own needs. Remember the Lady Mehedinţi who visited some time back? She was striking, no?" Seska clucks her tongue. "Rumor has it their difficulties producing an heir ended soon after a visit to Tótkomlós. While I am sure our blessings helped, I have a feeling Branimir's helped most of all," she says with a wink.

Vida splashes some water onto Seska's back, saying "Then I will only be punished with one horrible mistress who abuses me."

[Sabine]

I come out of hiding, [Revert from Protean 5] and say "Why're you gonna punish Miss Vida? She's nice!"

I run over and hug her.

[Seska Karantanija]

Seska startles, "Sabine! When did you sneak in!?"

She gives a little chuckle, "I suppose we were being too chatty to notice. You don't worry either. I won't be punishing her. We're just teasing one another."

"Little girls who sneak up on adults, however, need lots of punishment!" Seska splashes a handful of water at Sabine, causing Vida to let out a surprised squeal as some of it heads for her.

Vida hugs Sabine close, laughing. "How did you get in, honey? I didn't even hear the door open."

[Sabine]

I like hugs. I start wagging my tail.

"I came in through the door. I didn't have hands, so I couldn't knock, so I just came in. I was hiding, but the man could still see me. So I had to hide extra hard."

[Seska Karantanija]

Seska gets a confused look on her face. "You had no hands? Oh, they were full. What man was trying to see you, dearie?"

Vida is a bit confused, "You had no hands? But I can feel your hands hugging me, silly girl." Then a motion catches her eye. "What's that, Sabine? Do you..." she gasps, "... a tail?" She turns to Seska, "Was the child caught up in all your troubles, too? Is this another bit of suffering?"

[Sabine]

Suddenly, I'm shy. "Oops. I wasn't supposed to let you see that."

Now I need to hide again. [Protean 5]

[Seska Karantanija]

Seska gets a sheepish look, having enjoyed changing the subject from the past nights. "Yes, she wa... by Kupala's fire!" and jumps back in the tub, sending a spray of water all over the floor behind her.

Vida was calm and able to accept the strange tail as long as Seska was calm also. Seeing her mistress respond like that, she suddenly realized how... fantastic all of this news was. It was too much to bear, and she simply fainted.
