Lo and behold, this hotel supplies its in-room coffeemakers with a Kona coffee blend. 8O And I found out that Hawaii allows hard liquor to be sold at grocery stores, including those little single-serve bottles. So a very happy ali is enjoying decaf Kona coffee with Amaretto di Saronno right now. <sigh>

I'm not typically a person to drink flavored coffees. I took a chance on an "Irish Coffee" in celebration of the month, and it's pretty watery. Give me sumatra anyday.

Anyway, I'm also having this really nice bread I found in our grocery store. It's made by a local bakery without preservatives and sweeteners in it. I got their sourdough last time (tasted the way a sourdough *should* taste) and this time I go the Garlic, Basil and Parmesan. So I've toasted it (maybe a weird breakfast...I was excited to try it). It's really good. :) Overpowers the coffee, at least.

I'm not usually a flavored coffee person either. But coffee spiked with real booze -- there's not too much to complain about there...

Your bread sounds fabulous, tho. :)

It definitely was. I'm such a bread person. :p My mom made bread for our family while I was growing up because it was much, much cheaper. Now I'm a sucker for a well-made loaf of bread.

Since dinner at Lubavitch tonight is not until at least 8:30 (depending on if they run Jewish time or not) I'm munching on a matzah board pizza to hold me...

Bummer, Vader -- feel better soon!

Just had the last Kozy Shack sugar-free rice pudding in the fridge. :( Topped it with a dollop of lite whipped topping.

I made a variation of a dish I found in an old Frugal Gourmet video. He was making recipes from firefighters and he made what the fellow sent in called a "fritorta". A cup of rice cooked in chicken broth, a cup of chopped salami, a drained package of spinach, parmesan cheese a dozen eggs. Bake it in a casserole dish @ 325 for 40 minutes.

I made it Sunday and I've been having it for the last couple of mornings for breakfast. It's very good reheated.

I remember that one, I think.

I didn't go to the youtube, but is it the one with the spinach stuffed chicken thighs which can be left sitting? I had made that one once. It was pretty good.

Hyperception just discovered these a few days ago, and unlike wasabi peas, they fit in to his low carbing just fine.

All I'll say is they are awesome...

Yes, those wasabi & soy almonds are really good. I used to take a baggie of them to Seahawk games as a snack. Bad enough to have to pay stadium prices for beer, without having to shell out for snacks too!

The seasoning powder in the bottom of the can (or bag) is truly intense stuff!

If she never tests her blood glucose level, she can remain in denial...

Hopefully she shared this pint with Hyperception and Beorn, rather than bogarted it herself.

Heaven, after all, is far better when shared. :!!!:

That certainly is a stark contrast to Menolly's extravagant dessert pint, Sarge.
