I always try to wait for results before posting a story publicly.
That doesn't mean I don't bore the GMs to tears with my own poor attempts of writing stories of how I want things to go in my turn submissions/submittals...
But I have also been told time and again that I play more like a mortal, instead of being deific enough. I'm trying to change that, but it is not easy.
And Syl, do you mean other than Odin and Murrin in the First Age of Eiran?
~*~edit~*~
I better reconsider that...
Except in Acropolis, where until recently you gained advantage if you were the first to post an action after submission.

What I said, really. Other than myself, I don't know who had prophets in p1. Fist and Murrin did, then?
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

<sigh> Odin talked me into it for this round. (And wow, glad I didn't do any of Xar's games -- just glancing at the rules made my eyes glaze over. Kind of complex... )
Anyway, I've got an idea or two. We'll see where it goes....

Looking through the First Age reveals and statistics, it appears these followers were meant to be prophets at the start? I understand there is a difference between prophets and Important Followers, which is how many of those below are listed. But I am thinking at least one of the important followers listed would have been a prophet in the First Age?Syl wrote:What I said, really. Other than myself, I don't know who had prophets in p1. Having followed the First Age only via the public postings, there is a lot that happened in that Age I don't understand...
Amplarx > Nathaniel/Raphael
Argothoth > Odal Manhur
Avatar > the Chancellor
Atharidan > Jannon Walydur
Bhakti > not listed, but am nearly positive I recall there being one
Elauradaneth > Rydnick
Maeror > Farpath, Vann
(feel free to correct me if this is wrong, Murrin)
Movahl > Solina
(one of my favorite story lines in all three games)
Nephirthos > Scorching Flame
Ordine Naturale > Potenza, Potere
Solus > none listed, and no name given in the reveal
I assume there is one though, since Syl says he had one
It was asked before I thought it might need to be addressed... I don't care if you play without a Prophet. Chances are, if you find some area or group that seems to like you, and you spend at least a bit of time and power there, a Prophet will come along. And I guess you could use power for the specific purpose of finding someone who would gladly become your Prophet, which would make it happen more quickly.
But you could also just jump around the map, acting here and there. In which case, a Prophet is unlikely. But how you want to go about playing is your business. If you think there's an advantage to not having a Prophet, or waiting to get one later, or whatever, feel free. Imaginative play can bring success in any number of ways.

Excellent!!Odin wrote:There's a change to getting a Prophet. You're not going to start the game with one.
This is fitting more and more into how I am picturing the reveal I have in mind...
*shakes head hard for several seconds, hoping to clear it*
It still looks Menolly is posting about playing a game in a way that is not only not angst-filled and self-deprecating, but actually... well,
hopeful and confident?
