I like Wormholes inc. and Polis those have real bite to them.

what I was going for was taking centricity and concentricity any word that has a "revolutionary" theme to it and make a play on it.

That could be it. Well, I may run across it. In the meantime, I like your last two endorsements plus Bird's agreement. I'm impressed that Clarkesworld could rattle off so many at one go.

I surprised myself actually. They kept popping into my head. I had some more that were further out there which I neglected to inflict on people.

Problem with Concentris is that it is the name of a German scientific equipment company. I knew I had heard the name somewhere before. Not that I'd confuse the two, but who knows how aggressively they'd protect the name.

as long as it is in a different genre they have no copyright protection.
A shoe store hamburger shoppe and a car manufacturer can all be McDonalds and no one has the right to prevent the other.

Just tell that to Disney. :D

Copyright is pretty weak. Trademarks are a little more annoying. I only thought of it because I was involved in such a case with a piece of software we had designed. Even though we might have won, the legal costs were going to be high and the university didn't want the negative publicity. We renamed it.

But Why ?
Don't Leave Us hanging on by a Thread *oops another puppy*.

For What Reasons ?

Is Skies Plural for Sky ?

Wow That is just one of those words that doesn't look like it is spelled right, or maybe isn't even a word ?

What is the Pronunciation on that ?

How will Readers respond to shelling out 6 bucks for a book they aren't sure how to pronounce the title ?

You can only make one first impression, is that the one you want to make ?

Why?

Post by Zahir »

Uh...yeah, skies is indeed plural for sky. Given its a space opera thingee, I don't think too many folks will find that hard to follow. The focus is on humanity, on the worlds and places we've explored and made our own, as well as the horizens yet before us.
