That might require a staph immunity. Depending on who's on the staff.

OOH! OOH! I think I already won! I'm the only one who got an exclamation mark after their name in the finalist list. Y'all can eat my chiaroscuro dust cloud as I leave you all behind... Baby we were born to run.... :P

Just kidding. Congrats to my fellow finalists and I look forward to the elimination rounds. I just hope Wayfriend doesn't do anything crazy like make us count the number of times each word was used in the entire chrons as it stands so far or some such insanity.

The exclamation point was from my shock that you squeaked into the top five!

Dukkha, Menolly, Krazy, and Shuram: You guys were right in there, I had to look at all the numbers real close. You should be proud of your entries, many thought they were winners.

Poop. I knew I should have done "Lord Foul Went Down to New Mexico" but was afraid I would be straying too far away from the rules. Oh, well. Now at least I will be better prepared if I ever get the ooportunity to compete again.

Congratulations to the winners! Look forward to following the competetion from the comfort of my own home.

JK, CJ. JK. (The exclamation point was a typo; I had intended to use one on all five names, and blew it.)

The Test of the Mist
  • Image
Survivor: Isle of the One Tree

By degrees, the mist came to feel like a dream in which long spans of time passed with indefeasible haste. When the mist unwound itself enough to permit another momentary view of the Isle, she hardly noticed that the rocks were no closer than before.
In this Test, the Survivors must reach their goal and beat the other Survivors with only a hazy idea of what lies ahead.

Each Survivor must provide an entry that contains fourteen words as follows:
  1. verb
  2. verb
  3. adverb
  4. noun
  5. noun
  6. noun
  7. adjective
  8. adverb
  9. adjective
  10. verb
  11. verb
  12. adverb
  13. noun
  14. verb
To win the Staff of Immunity, send to me via PM the name of the Bloodguard that sounds like an undersea creature.

When all the entries are in, the audience will vote for the Survivor whom they consider to have surpassed the others in this contest. Then the winner of the Staff of Immunity will be revealed. The Survivor with the least number of votes will leave the Isle with a cash prize of 1 WGD. However, the Survivor who has won the Staff of Immunity cannot be voted off. The remaining four Survivors will move on to the next Test. (But, yeesh, not until next week at least!)

I'm already confused. Are we writing madlibs Donaldson style? Are we supposed to pick a verb and list it in a numbered list for step two of the next hazing level? Have I already lost because I am confused?

Just for fun:

On a dark farmstead backwoods, fresh blood in my hair
Warm smell of infection, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a chiaroscuro light
My ring grew heavy and my sight inchoate
I had to run to the fight
There they stood in the backwoods;
I heard Lord Foul laugh
And I was thinking to myself,
’this could be The Land please give me the staff’
Then they lit up the bonfire shoving hands in the flames
There were voices down the catacombs,
I thought I heard them say...

Welcome to the Land, Thomas Covenant
Linden Avery too
What a fine snafu
Plenty of doom at the Land oh white gold wielder
Any time I'm near, it's puissance is here

Her mind's immedicably twisted, she got percipience of fools
She got a lot of crazy vision things that she thinks cool
How vines grew in the green sun, sweet corrupt rot.
How the Land used to be pure, how I wish I forgot.

So I called up the Giants
It's the One Tree we find
He said, ’we haven’t heard that name since since way before my time’
And still those voices are calling from far away,
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say...

Welcome to the Land Thomas Covenant
Linden Avery too
What a fine snafu
Ravers running amok at the Clave in Revelstone
What a nice surprise, Guess you're on your own

Ravers bounced from the ceiling,
Honninscrave paid the price
Lord Foul said ’we are all just prisoners here, of the Creator's device’
And in the conclave’s chambers,
They gathered for the fight
Stabbed the ravers with their steely knives,
But they just can’t kill despite

Last thing I remember, I was
reaching out my white gold
I had to find the best way back
To the place I was before
’relax,’ said Lord Foul,
Your white gold I'm to receive.
You can join me in the arch of time,
But you can never leave!

That's not my list entry because i am totally unsure what Way wants. I just had that work into my head and posted it for fun. I did however answer the bonus staff of immunity question earlier in pm so hopefully timeliness counts.

I believe he wants a straightforward list of words that match the parts-of-speech he specifies. He will then plug them into a script (probably Donaldsonian, but maybe not) in the same way MadLibs is played...then the audience will vote on the resulting texts.

Of course, I could be wrong. Let the Game Master speak as to his intent.

Clarity? How droll.

This is basically the same thing as we have done before. I am sorry for the confusion; I reworded and reworded and I guess I forgot what I was supposed to say. :(

Here's an example entry:
  1. run
  2. walk
  3. nicely
  4. dog
  5. cat
  6. box
  7. red
  8. noisily
  9. fast
  10. sleep
  11. eat
  12. easily
  13. tree
  14. sit
