Was it at one of their shows, or did the spirit just hitcha?
I love the Pogues and I find it hard to sit still too much when listening to them.
Another author I like wrote something to the effect of that you know it is good music if you are unable to resist tapping your foot while listening to it. While I don't wholeheartedly agree, because sometimes it can just be an infectious beat, it definitely plays out when I listen to the Pogues.

Time is a waste of life
So get wasted all of the time
And you'll have the time of your life

Great song. I have always enjoyed the Pogues. Cuchulainn's story is similar to that of Persian folk hero Rostam.

They played it at a local club I used to go to back then. I was 15, didn't give a flying f*** about the law and hang out with punks (real punks) a lot. Usually I'd rather won't be seen dead dancing, but alcohol and substancies were included. Germany is a hell of lot more relaxed about these things (and used to be even more back then). You can still legally drink beer when you're 16.

Unfortunately I never saw the Pogues live. A mate did, shortly before Shane got kicked for a while. Shane did sing the opnening song, then drank a bottle of whiskey and disappeared backstage. One of the guitarists sang all the songs before they carried Shane back on stage for the encore - which he "performed" on his knees, whiteknuckling the microphone stand while slurring some random words into the mic.
