That's interesting! I assumed SRD meant he envisioned the town to be set somewhere in rural NJ. Didn't know it actually existed :)

Haven farm is not a town or a city.
It was a personal name for a piece of Land TC and Joan
aquired.
They may have named it Haven's Farm or it may have been bought with the name known as Haven's Farm
(Whoever Haven was)

It most probably :
East of the Missisppi.
No general place where horses are raised. (That was Joan's doing)
Where "Traveling Church Revivals" occur
Very rural since no reference to a establish large city.
Small town/village nearby with a bank.
A hostipal where "mentally disturbed" people can be housed.
A bar with a stage (for live band entertaitment) at the outter edge or just outside the towns limits.
No major Interstate hightways nearby just State routes.
The Sherrifs department is the major influence with law-enforcements.
Probably a small sherrif office with Aux/Vol. officers.
Louisianna is most probably ruled out because the of no references to cajun type food and their counties are called "Parrishes".

People had the stigma of associating with a leper.

Now there a whole lot of places that can be labeled as a "Haven's farm area"

anybody else add to the list?

Love the list of clues, but I think the above one could be a 'red herring' because if my memory serves me right this was only established after the events of the 2nd chrons
Spoiler

Yeah, we're kinda starting to get into Last Chronicles territory here. This point is mostly intial setting, so I don't think it's much of a spoiler, so let's keep it that way! :)
As far as real life examples, Albany, Ohio, seems to be spot on. I'll have to upload some pictures!

Since I live in Ohio, I just gotto say "nope"

Unless your talking east of Chillicothe. like 50 miles east.

But even then.. I have my doubts.
(Buck fans over that way too. :P )

I 'm talking about Appalachia...not the "have we stumbled into a third world country" Apppalachia, but the sleepy, major grocery store is Family Dollar Appalachia.

And not to derail the topic, but what part of Ohio do you live in?
