Looks fabulous, Vader. Except for the fish. Ew.

In Phoenix AZ this week. Heard about a place that chefs and critics are calling "the best pizza on the planet." Well, you know I had to go. Seriously, read some of the reviews, people talk about this place as if it's crack and they are addicts-www.yelp.com/biz/pizzeria-bianco-phoenix. When people joke about bringing playing cards, beach towels, and sunscreen to wait and it's worth it, it's gotta be good.
All I have to say is it's pretty effing good pizza.

You gotta get there before 5 and still there is already a wait. I wanted to get the Margherita and add the fennel sausage but I ended up ordering the Wiseguy. Pizza Nirvana. And cheap. I was expecting to pay quite a bit more. The restaurant is tiny. WTF? If people think it's so great (and it is) why don't they expand, open new locations, etc?

They got a wood oven and that's all I need to know to be sure this place must be good. You can't make pizza without a good wood oven.Harbinger wrote:Ok double post. That's because I'm back at Pizzeria Blanco. Pizza nirvana. If it was easier, I would have posted a pic of all the people that were waiting here at 4 for the 5 o'clock opening.
Of course you can make a yeast dough, roll it flat and cover it with tomato sauce, all sorts of stuff and cheese and bake it in your oven - but that's not pizza, that's simply flat dough being baked with sauce and stuff on top.
I'm so much building my own wood oven in the garden next summer.
