Rob asks if haiku is my only form
I’ll freely admit that one is my norm

Hehehe. I almost forgot you wrote a limerick about me. :)

I get to teach 2nd grade again tomorrow. That'll be four days of teaching in the space of 6 school days. Not bad for a substitute teacher who only works at a few schools.

It was great to see Aliantha and Creator and the rest of the time I hung out with this motley crew... bet you can't tell which ones are genetically related to me and which ones aren't.... :P Aliantha even got to meet my fambly and see and hear me interacting as a responsible adult while supervising kids....

OH, and just in case you were wondering, yes, the urge to wear live insects as jewelry is in fact genetic and the evidence follows here:

Hmmm. Considering the prank that got pulled while she was showering, we know who is the unruliest! :whip:

Nice pics. It sounds like you all had a lovely time.

In the middle of a second-grade math lesson, a ceiling tile fell off the ceiling directly above a student's head. Luckily it landed on a light fixture along the way, or I would have had to change the lesson from a review of addition to the real-life applications of subtraction. This incident divided the class's attention between shouts of surprise, wild speculations, and attempts at explaining to the imperiled student what had happened (she was too absorbed in her assignment to notice that she had nearly been bonked on the noggin). This multiplied my frustration in trying to bring the situation back under control. The life of a substitute teacher is never dull.

Let's see.... I'm hot, sweaty, sticky, cranky and itchy. The brief water and weather change wreaked havoc on my skin and hair. My hair is flyaway, my skin is dry despite all the lotion I've slathered on and I think I've mostly sweated it off anyway so my skin is dry and itchy and I'm freaking tired. I didn't call in today. I went to work. I am midshift all week. Ugh. At least when I work closing I can do something in the morning like hang out at the cafe and get my laundry done. Midshift means I wake up early, go to work and get out just in time to be able to do NOTHING else.

Confused by Latin, as anyone who watches my Facebook will know. Memorising case endings. Bah.

At least I only have to read it, not write it or speak it. Still, I couldn't resist trying my hand at a very, very simple sentence using the little I've learnt so far: "Alan mensas edificant" - if I've done it correctly, "Alan builds tables"
