I really like your avatar. Is it an original painting of yours?
I wish! I found it on Flickr though, www.flickr.com/photos/johnnewbury/312076408/

Unfortunately that is his only picture, I wish he had more I love the style.

And wayfriend, no promises. I have been known to enjoy a good rending or two :)

Thank you all for your warm welcome... I am more than willing to share a short tale or a long ale at any time..
I read the adventure, and then I lived the adventure, one day I wish to acquire the skill to write the adventure.

I have been many things in my life, child, father, student, and teacher, janitor, movie usher and popcorn popper, bus driver, discipline coordinator for a school district, homeless, and rich, retired once, and working again, married, divorced and married again. I have been and aircraft mechanic, helicopter door gunner, aviation life support equipment repairer, soldier. I have seen my children and grandchildren born and have buried my oldest son as a causality of the same war I fought.

Agreed. I had to stare at a copy of Runes of the Earth for a couple hours in the bookstore before I was convinced the publishers weren't pulling a fast one.

Hey Rude, or as I'll probably keep calling you, Snacks or Will.
"But a moment later Kasreyn twitched. His limbs shifted. Slowly, stiffly, he climbed to his hands and knees, then to his feet. An instant ago, he had had no pulse: now his heart beat with renewed vigor. Strength flowed back into him. He turned to face the company. He was grinning like a promise of murder."

Welcome, Rude. Are you here because you're a Chronicles fan? Or just to call your pal "geezer"? :)

I laughed. And then cried because nobody can pronounce it right.

Thanks buddy. I mean it. But yeah I went with a more theme appropriate name here.

Hi, i'm currentley up to ruines of the earth, and waiting for it to be delivered. As such I would like to have a sneaky peek at the first chapter. Ive tried SDR's site, but the link seems to be broke. Does anyone know where i could do this? Cheers

Hmm. All the links to the first chapters work for me on SRD's site. Might be basic, but the only thing I can think of is you don't have Adobe Reader.

Try this.

Welcome to the Watch RS. I'd say more, but since you're only here for the RPGs there's probably no point... ;)

I've been an SRD fan for >20yrs. And have read, re-read and re-read the Chronicles. Also enjoyed his other work, but nothing as much TC. The struggles of Covenant and Linden as anti-heroes and the philosophical dilemmas are so intriguing. My reactions have also been interesting as I have reviewed the series in 3 different decades of my life. I'll just keep reading them!

Dr of I., nice to meet you. Welcome to the site Menolly will do the Traditional "Welcome" Salute, when she sees your post :D

It's been About 15 years for me, only had the chance to read the first two Chronicles through twice (1995/96), and just listened to the First Chronicles Audio Books (Awesome, BTW) for my 3rd Read. Read the Final Chronicles once when they came out, and read the last 100 pages of Runes before FR came out. I also now have those two as Audio Books and lsitened to them right after the First Chronicles.

My hope is to get through AATE in a month, then listen to the First Chronicles Audio Book again, and hopefully read Gilden Fire in between and The Second Chronicles after, and then back to the Fnal Chronicles Audiobooks (I have a 1/2 hour+ commute each direction daily and listen to Audiobooks on the Commute and have little reading time). Second Chronicles is supposed to be recorded soon on Audiobook.

Scott Brick does the Reading of the First Chronicles and the Final Chronicles (Soon to be 2nd Chronicles) and does an awesome job, if you're ever in the mood for going that route.

Anyways welcome again, looking forward to your contribution. Especially check out the Dissection on your re-readings

kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=9

I really enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts and analysis by chapter on my recent Audio book trip through the series.
