That's right.

Last thing I remember, you handed it to someone else. Also, do you really want to be selling something that has the seal of the Inquisition on it . . . ?

I handed it to the navigator chick, with instructions to hand it to Garrius when he climbed down.

I suspect that selling something with an Inquisitor's seal on it is mildly less dangerous than keeping something with an Inquisitor's seal on it. And that's why I have Common Lore: Underworld, anyway.

That's not what I was implying, but ok...

Wait... you thought I should give it back to them?

That would just be silly. Dude DIED. And dropped his ancient bolter. And I clearly never saw it after that. The guy who killed him must have taken it, or maybe it was destroyed in whater process melted the Inquisitor. I'm sure I don't know what happened to it. I never even saw it.

What bolter?

He had a bolter?

And forsake earning brownie points with the most terrifying institution in the Imperium? But actually, that's a risk too - 'You saw an inquisitor flee, did you? And one alleged to have been involved in corruption? That can't be possible. Come with us into the next room, and allow us to explain . . .'

What I was also suggesting is even riskier than selling it - potentially using it to impersonate an inquisitor.

Yeah, I'd briefly considered that. But... it's one thing to have something dangerous hidden in your secret room back in the secure facility on the ship that moves around a lot. Enough risk to be titillating without actually bringing about your death, unless you're very unlucky.

Walking around saying "I'm an Inquisitor!", and waving the thing around... That'll come back and haunt you, good luck or bad. I'd much rather gain the benefit of the large amount of untracable cash for the one-time risk of moving the item to the exchange point. Let some other crazy person walk around with a bullseye on his chest.

Just so you know - selling it won't add a permanent bonus to the PF, however, it will give a small one time bonus to a PF test of your choosing (or of the RT's choosing).

Oh right... I forget... Garrius is in charge.

He's probably gonna want to turn it in.

There go my cyber implants. (Why does that sound dirty?)

Too bad you handed it to the ambitious Navigator. You might have sold it off through the black market without anyone knowing.

Yeah, I knew I was going to be doing the talking to the crazy people with all the boomex. I figured an ally behind me with a hidden bolter might be useful.

Then again, I'm still waiting for, "... Julient opened her third eye..."

Sweet ready to jump back into the 41st Millennium with a shout and huzzah. Hope your thesis went all good Montresor!

There should be a certain level of restraint exercised here, since Montresor has not made clear the extent of the actual manifestations on the Invictus. However, the apparition or spirit does need to be shown to actually exist (although someone may choose to give it life  ). The legend itself (or the crews overactive/"corrupted" imagination) could be strong enough to provoke fear (or reverence) of an entity/legend. The 41st millennium is a superstitious time after all.
I love it.

I think it's fair that I leave this a week and see if someone else comes up with another suggestion. If another player seconds this contest idea, we'll consider this open immediately.

Great idea. Will post the specific rewards and rules whenever this is seconded, or a week goes by. Just for now, I have no problem with people making story entries for this, however, all entries must be phrased as if they are being told from second-hand information. It's up to me whether or not tales hold any truth. This goes for other story based entries about the ship (not just the ghost suggestions).

I also only just noticed Goatkiller's clown story. That was hilarious. It's frankly quite plausible too. Oh the temptation to at least have it as an in-joke...

Yea that's the idea. Don't want to clash with the source material or your own idea for how things are. This way it works more as a view into the state of mind (or lack thereof) of small portions of the crew.

What clown story? I should probably know what you're talking about. But, I don't.

If Andrea spends too much time in the Lower Decks, perhaps she'll find out...

Also, though I myself won't have the time to submit an entry for the ghost contest, I second the idea of doing it. I'm all about more and more content. Perhaps I'll do some pondering while on the bus next week?

There will be plenty of time. I'll give one month for the contest. Will write up the rules in a day or so. In the meantime, +20 XP for Zarkov for the idea for the new contest.

I've submitted. Now I just need a short break and I can return to writing for leisure, as well as for work. Will start the updates over the weekend.

I look forward to the story on CNN of your exploits across Thailand.

Just remember. Rape is about power, not sex. So it doesn't make you gay to rape both men and women. (You could also be gay, I'm just saying we cannot draw conclusions from your choice of rape victims.)

If there's one thing prison taught me - you're not gay if you don't take it.

Anyway, replies up. There's nothing for me to do in the Footfall thread, as either Praetus or Drak-Kung need to post there. There's probably not that much need of that, so I can move the campaign along very shortly.
