So here I was thinking we had some new recruits.

've just been playing with the new raid controls on the ptr and they're pretty great. The frames are a lot like Grid frames now, there's a lot of customisation. When in a raid you get a pop-out menu on the left side which lets you show and hide groups or roles, assign raid target icons, place up to 5 world markers (different colour flares), and run a role check and a ready check.

Nice. I'm always in favor of 'addon' stuff becoming part of the standard UI.

My personal hope is to get addons down to Omen, Recount, and DxE. Right now on the PTR I need TidyPlates (default nameplates don't scale correctly with screen resolution), MSBT (default text has scaling issues and doesn't look so good anyway), and something to move and alter my player and target frames (they're the only frames that cannot be changed from the old version and are still unmovable).

Edit: Forgot Auctioneer and OpenAll, hehe.

Come vote your choice in Win Wayfriend's Money! The latest contest among the three remaining Survivors is explained here, followed by the three entries.

Anyone may vote, even if you haven't participated in the game before.

To be honest at this point I feel like I'd rather wait and play it for real.

Just checked my alt email for the first time in a while. Got a Beta invite. Wish I had the time.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

i got in too. goblins is broke so if you do go in syl don't finish the last quest in the goblin start zone.

goblins are cool. can't wait to make one in the for reals.

i copied both irv and mirrth and the talent trees are weird.
and i hate hate hate playing with the game ui. i want my bartendr!

i certainly hope bartendr will be updated for cata cause there's no way i'm gonna be able to play effectively with the game ui.
i guess i'd best get started practicing on the beta.

i got old world flight and flew around EK checking out the geographical changes. its sorta mind boggling. also went to Mt Hygl and did a couple of quests.
the quest reward greens are damn near better than my 264 epics. not quite but damn near. haven't been in the tol barad bg yet but plan to go in today and see what its like.

honestly, i'm very very grateful i got in beta cause if i hadn't, come cata release, i'd be in a serious state of shock and confusion.

This is my Beta UI. I'm not planning to change much on live.

Re: gear, I started upgrading most of my stuff in Deepholm (around level 83). Once you get to ilevel 300+ stuff they're definate upgrades.

Sorus, Ryan is trying to get a hold of you. They want you to work at six on Monday instead of nine.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

So I have everything planned out.

First, start the launcher and begin installing (done).
Second, download the release-version addons I'll need to set up my UI in 4.0 while the game is installing (done).
Third, install addons on the beta, log in, and set them up.
Fourth, once install is complete, delete old addons and settings, and copy the ones from beta to my live account.
Fifth, wait for servers to come up and log in to my already finished setup.
