It was a great time. Saturday, after I picked Danlo up from the airport and after we dropped his stuff off at the house we went out for dinner. The weather which had been good for the last couple of weeks, turned on Saturday night into quite a downpour. Once we reached the restaurant, in a bit of a culinary adventure, Danlo tried, for the first time, lake perch. He liked it and after watching the Giants and the Blackhawks for a while at the bar, we came back home. I thought it would be a good idea to log into WoW and let Danlo visit with Lucimay and Sorus, who I figured would be on vent. They were and Danlo nearly blew out Luci's ears adjusting to it. ;) I showed him how not to play a Druid, which Luci and Sorus thought might be a good character class for Danlo. Then for the rest of the evening, I got all my Sunday fantasy football stuff out of the way on the laptop while Danlo worked on the desktop.

Sunday, we left about 9 am for the 12 pm game. The weather forecast was none too promising, a 60% chance of rain. But after a little rain just after we started out, the skies, if they didn't exactly clear, didn't rain either. The game itself, if not exactly the most skillful played by either team, was at least an interesting one to watch, even if the Bears ultimately lost.

After the game, we went to Roditys, in Greektown, for dinner. I had octopus while Danlo had sea bass. Danlo, continuing his culinary groundbreaking ways, tried a bit of my dish and thought it was fine. We got back in time to watch the Sunday night game, Danlo working on the Hangar Football game, while I was also reading AATE while glancing at the game if something interesting happened.

Danlo expressed interest in going to a museum for Monday, since his flight didn't leave until 7:15 pm. So I thought it would be interesting to go to the Art Institute. We spent about 4 hours roaming the halls there, seeing American Gothic, Van Gogh's self portrait, and a host of French impressionist paintings, among others. After a quick walk through Millennium Park and lunch, we went out to the United Center, where Danlo wanted to see M.J's statue. From there we made our way to O'Hare with me dropping Danlo off about 5 pm. A short visit but a fun one.

Didya see The Bean? It's cool, huh? :)

Glad you guys had a good time. I woulda loved the Art Institute trip. Four hours isn't nearly enough time to do that place justice.

The Bean is awesome, as are the two two-story towers with the moving faces on them. The Institute is huge and beautiful and we got to see two works by Paul Klee, my favorite artist, as well as some Matisse, Serat and Dali and, or course Hopper's famous Nighthawks.

Yeah, it was a great experience, I'm always blown away by how huge lake Michigan is, Damelon's wonderful host and Marty and Ariel are precious!
