Connections beyond the fact that Caprica is a prequel of BSG?
Anyway, I keep forgetting to post here. I'm really enjoying the show. It's slow in ways, but I don't mind. This is setting up the destruction of the Colonies, eh? Such a thing might be complicated, and they're making sure it's done right.
Adama's and Tamara's story is pretty cool. Daniel sure pissed me off last week!
Amanda's story can go, though. But perhaps it will become very relevant. I have to assume they know it would be silly to waste so much time on an entirely unrelated plot.

????
I'm not sure what you mean? Caprica is a Prequel to BSG, set 58 years between the BSG Miniseries 1st epsiode, and is focued on the story of the Adama family and the Graystone family (The inventor of this round of Cylons) . Zoe is the first cylon, and I imagine if the show lasts long enough we'll see the Cylons being integrated into daily life. So, naturally there is connections.

OK, I was't just imagining things then. Cylons, Adama, Sci-Fi...
A prequel to BSG makes sense now. DUH!!!

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize you didn't know, dang my post must look really abusive from that perspective.
Yes, Joseph Adama is Admiral Adama's Lawyer father that Apollo was encouraged to follow in his steps late in BSG. Joseph's son Willi is Admiral Adama as a boy. Daniel Graystone was mentioned once or twice in BSG (Maybe even in Razor?) as being the creator of the Cylons or making the first Hybrid or something.
What a whizbang mid season finale, each episode has gotten better and better, can't wait until it returns for the second half of S1.

It's becoming a very interesting show. I don't love it, but I am intrigued by it.

I havent seen Battlestar Galactica yet, would Caprica be a good starting point or do I need to watch BSG before Caprica? May rent them on netflicks. I realize Caprica is the Prequel or set in the past of BSG. looks like it should be a good series ..from what i saw of the Caprica Pilot...

There's probably stuff that has or will come out in Caprica that might ruin some of the BSG revelations for you, and I imagine either way you watch it, you'll see references back to the other.
If you're not really interested in BSG, then I don't think you'd be too lost to watch Caprica first, but, probably best to watch BSG first, IMHO.

Blackhawk, I have only seen season One so far of BSG, and from what I have heard of Caprica, I think some things would be spoiled in BSG if you were to watch Caprica first, even though it is a prequel...

Yeah, what Sindatur said.
Thanks Menolly I will wait to watch Caprica once i finish BSG
I've watched everything out so far on Hulu. Daniel Graystone is an SOB. If that's his daughter in there or all that's left of his daughter he should be ashamed of his efforts to draw her out.

We appreciate all the support that fans have shown for Caprica and are very proud of the producers, cast, writers and the rest of the amazing team that has been committed to this fine series. Unfortunately, despite its obvious quality, Caprica has not been able to build the audience necessary to justify a second season. The remaining first run episodes of Caprica will be removed from the schedule as of next Tuesday, November 2. The final 5 eps will be re-scheduled to air at a to be announced time in the first quarter of 2011, & will conclude the run of the series.
Thanks again to all the awesome fans who watched and supported the show, and to the AMAZING cast and crew.

<Sigh> Knew it had to be coming, but, still disappointing. Finally, last week, it really all started coming together, and continued that trend this week.
I can't believe they are going to hold back the last 5 episodes. This has got to be the longest single season in history. It's been over 2 years, I believe since the Pilot, and I believe the next 8 episodes were finished 9 months ago, and now we wait until at least Jan-March for the last 5, and no ending? Here's hoping they'll add a mini-series or a couple extra episodes to give the series an ending. So, about 3 years for a 20 episode season.
If not, maybe Chrome and Blood (The new planned spin-off, more action oriented, planned to be 10 years into the Cylon War) will tie up some loose ends providing it makes it to series

We just started watching BSG a few weeks ago on DVD (Blu-ray after season 1, thank the gods ). We've just started season three, and we're really enjoying it. Very good show.
I'm disappointed to hear that Caprica was cancelled. I was looking forward to something new after the last season of BSG, which is quickly approaching for us.
I'm glad I haven't spoiled myself for BSG. It's been quite a ride to watch it straight through.
The last 5 episodes were awesome. I can't believe this show was cancelled.

These 5 raised the bar, and then...Spoiler
the arena scene, next to last scene in whole series...was just amazingly well done. Got completely wrapped up in it. Clarissa preaching to robots at end was pretty damn cool, too.
AND THEN:
Did you notice, at the very end they didn't delete the "more episodes" even though won't be any? That was just EVIL.
