So once again the League has dropped the ball. Their punishment for James "Roid Rage " Harrison is a $75,000. This idiot makes over $13,000,000 a season, so this fine for repeat offense is still less than one game check, and he gets to start this weekend. On the other hand, the Browns will likely be missing 2 starters for their next game against the Saints.
No suspensions were levied against this weekends tribe of head hunters, but the League did promise to start enforcing the rules as they apply to illegal hits. Uhm yeah sure.
Even though Harrisons post game, and next day comments prove his stupidity( "I put him asleep"), they did nothing to encourage the League to respond decisively. After Harrison boldly stated that a fine would not change the way he plays, the NFL promptly fined him.
Mike Tomlins comments reguarding both hits go along way towards proving that he at least in part responsible for the actions of his player, and yet no fines were levied against him, and the officiating crew has completely gotten off the hook for letting these cheap shots go unpunished.

well if the nfl doesn't enforce the rule - and start suspending players - someone will get killed on the field.

The Vikings have just waived Randy Moss. He is now available on waivers, and can be claimed by any of the Leagues 32 franchises. Let me be the first to say Yay! How much do you want to bet the Vikings just got better? Now how many teams are going to let him fall past them? Welcome to Buffalo Randy, you can have T.O.'s old pad.

The Vikes should have released Favre, too.

Disagree. With enough discipline, Moss is probably the best wide receiver in the league today. Belichick proved that with several uneventful but productive seasons with Moss on the Patriots. Moss spoke to that fact in his bizarre press conference after Sunday's game. Moss doesn't like the Vikings, so he was mediocre with them. He loves the Patriots, so he was awesome with them. It's extremely unlikely we'll get him back of course, but it would be nice. The Vikings are such a self-destructive franchise. They traded a third-round draft pick for essentially nothing, and now are left with an ailing Favre to carry their season. Good luck with that.

It sounds like we agree, at least to me. I have no doubt that Moss is among the Leagues top talent, his skills although top notch, evaporate once he decides he doesn't want to be somewhere. Chances are he will be picked by some lower echelon team like my Browns, because of their need for a number one receiver, and then destroy any chance at harmony in the locker room because he doesn't want to be there, or he'll retire just to get out of it. If I were the GM of any team that was struggling I would avoid him like the plague.

I'm glad I picked him in the 1st round. Last time I picked a Patriot in 1st round, Brady is out for season on 1st play from scrimmage.

The Browns pull out a road victory against the Saints ( Super Bowl Team )
Then they do the Patriots at home
Now they've been counted out in their own house against the Jets
message to the NFL: "Please keep sleeping on my Browns, we might make the playoffs."

i believe that Moss will have more impact in Tennessee than Merriman will have in Buffalo.

New England will have it's hands full with the Steelers.

The Steelers have got some major issues to work out on their offensive line if they hope to make a playoff run. The Browns need to figure out what they are going to do at receiver if they are to even have a hope of making the playoffs next season. The Jets well they are who we thought they were.

Looks like the Redskins were on the whipping post last nite. Dang, Vick looks good. 4-0 as starter.

msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/Boy-tackled-Cleveland-Browns-New-York-Jets-111710
An eight-year-old New York Jets fan was tackled by a drunken Browns supporter in a parking lot following Sunday's game, Cleveland's WEWS-TV reported Wednesday.

The boy's mother, who would only identify herself as Danielle, said her son attended the game with his father, who is from New York. She said her husband and son were not harassed inside Browns Stadium during the Jets' 26-20 overtime victory, but the scene turned ugly once they left.

“As he was walking, holding my son’s hand, a guy from behind tackled him. A drunken Browns fan tackled him and pulled him out of his dad’s hand. He was on the ground crying,” Danielle said.

She said her son's ankle was scraped and bruised, but her husband opted not to call police, choosing instead to leave as soon as possible.

“He just wanted to get him out of there, out of that environment,” Danielle said, adding that Browns fans also threw food at them and called him a "bad word."

Browns vice president of media relations Neal Gulkis said team officials were looking into the situation, which he called unfortunate.

"One thing Browns President Mike Holmgren said when he got here was home-field advantage and a fan-friendly environment is very important," Gulkis said.

Initially, Danielle said she was not worried about her son attending the game, because "Clevelanders are such great people. I knew that they would never hurt an eight-year-old kid, never.”

The Muni Lots outside the stadium are operated by the city. Cleveland parks and recreation director Michael Cox told WEWS behavior by drunken fans is one reason that the city stopped opening the lots at 4:00am on game days.

Either way, Danielle said her son will not be going back to another Browns game.

“My husband asked him, ‘Did you have a good time?’ He said ‘Yes.” He said ‘Would you want to go back sometime?’ And he said ‘No, I don’t like Browns Stadium.’ Who could blame him?”

First of all I would like to start by saying that anyone who would become so drunk , and out of control that they attacked a kid deserves horse whipped in public.
Second I would point out that these type of incidents occur quite often, and not just in Cleveland. I've watched you tube video of 2 teenage 49er fans being pelted mercilessly with ice at an Eagles game. My pregnant wife , and I were stalked , taunted, and threatened by 2 Steelers fans at my nephews high school football game. Why you ask? Because I wore a Browns jersey to the game.
Third, and least important, this alleged incident ( article included ) is based on a third party account from a person who wasn't even there. Although rewards have been offered ( see Colin Cowherd espn radio) not one witness has come forward, and no video of this incident has been produced. I've been in that parking structure, there are cameras everywhere. Sgt. Null there was a time when I thought better of you.
