i consider Bladerunner a masterful film making and an extraordinary extraction of a story within a story (its basically a portion of phillip k dick's "do androids dream of electric sheep").

Yeah, I wholeheartedly agree with luci on Bladerunner, say what you will re: Gladiator, but Thelma and Louise, Blackhawk Down and White Squall were excellent films as well, maybe not in the Alien/Bladerunner category...
