Aye, Mhoram is The Lord Dood of all Doooods! ;)

Ahem. Well, he is actually my second favorite fictional character I've ever read, coming right after Sam Gamgee. (and not the movie version!)
Cowboy: Why you doin' this, Doc?
Doc Holliday: Because Wyatt Earp is my friend.
Cowboy: Friend? Hell, I got lots of friends.
Doc Holliday: ... I don't.

Instead, Mhoram forgot his own revelation, and believed evil to be utterly defeated. But can evil ever be eradicated? Can we ever abandon all power and believe only in peace?

Mhoram is a fascinating character also because of this, his final error.
I don't think it wa his final error. don't think he didn't forget his final revelation. I tink he realized you can use strong emotion to fight for something. The Oath of Peace was not the oath of pacifism. You have to remember that conversation with Covenant after Gilmmermere. The oath of Peace isn't pacifism.

Mhoram didn't say they would avoid Lore that precludes violence. Just capital P Peace. As in the Oath of Peace Peace. Which includes hacking and maiming, as Covenant put it.

The failure came in his successors.
Do, or do not. There is no try.
