Probably the most Covanentesque character on television-- he had power, but did not use it if he didn't have to.

I like Fist and Faith. I like all watchers-- this is by far, the most erudite, respectful group of people I've ever encountered on the internet.

Lyrics I wrote, inspired by Covenant and Quai Chang Caine:

From the song "Man without a gun."

"I'm trying to find the power I seen in being weak."

Here's a really cool story I once heard about the Shaolin that I think you might enjoy.
A family sent their eldest sun to study at the Shaolin temple, and they made him sit before a kettle of water each day and slap the water with his open hand.
He wanted to learn their teachings and how to fight, but all they did was take him to this kettle of water.
He did nothing but slap the water for a whole year. He returned to his family for a brief visit and when they asked him, at the dinner table, what he had learned, his frustration grew to a peak.
He proclaimed, "I have learned nothing!"
As he said this, he struck the table in his great anger-- and promptly split the whole thing in two!

I love that story, though the version I heard is slightly different at the dinner table. And, on a side note, the training technique actually works.

the difference between evidence and sources: whether they come from the horse's mouth or a horse's ass.
"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation."
the hyperbole is a beauty...for we are then allowed to say a little more than the truth...and language is more efficient when it goes beyond reality than when it stops short of it.
