Oh, yes. This will be a must-attend.

Hoping the New Mexico sun does not melt the wax on my wings...much.
Focus on where you are going and why.
Never lose awareness of how far down "down" is...but don't obsess about it.

Could we get an update on this?

I'd love to attend this year (it would be my first one!), and they're passing around the vacation schedule at work...

Reality is that I probably won't be able to make it, unfortunately. Things kinda came up in life <grumble> and had to fork out a whole lot of money that we don't have. Anyway, will keep hoping something comes up but, well, it's unlikely. :)

Oh no, Sea!
I understand, but I was totally hoping you would be there.

Yeah, so was I (and if the AU$ stays the way it is then i'd make sense--we're above parity at the moment). I'm fishing for contracts at Mr Seareach's work but...anyway...we'll see but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I updated you on the page behind you--we're shooting for the second weekend in June (when we usually do this) still awaiting SRD's response.

I'm going to take three weeks off work at that time. So, I expect to stay a week in New Mexico and then maybe see San Francisco and New York.

Wow. That's a lot of flying, Lore.

Coming this far, I don't blame you for being so ambitious. But the desert southwest, with the Grand Canyon, and the Rockies just to the east, and then the west coast with San Francisco and maybe travel up the coast towards Furls mountain in Oregon or to see balon in OlyWa, with Las Vegas in between the desert soutwest and the west coast, might be an option to consider as well, with less flying time.

heh, who am I kidding!
Lucimay and Sea can far better advise you regarding that sort of trip. ;)

I wouldn't mind exploring the desert and then the Grand Canyon. Maybe you are right; too much flying. Could go on a trip to see the mountains.

Lore, FWIW, I recommend coming west from New Mexico to see the Grand Canyon (Vegas and/or Los Angeles only if that floats your boat), San Francisco and then up the Pacific Coast past Mt Shasta, Hood, St Helens, Rainier and Baker while visiting Portland, Seattle and Vancouver BC...

That would optimal in terms of sites to see, culture/cusine to experience and Watchers to meet.

In any case, looking forward to meeting you at Elohimfest, even if you do not pick up the rest of the itinerary.

If he's flying it I reckon he'll be fine. We did a loop in less than two weeks (San Fran to New Mexico, via Denver, and then through the Grand Canyon and via Victorville back to SF) and that included three nites in SF and three (or was it two) in Denver and two nites in New Mexico.

...and, yeah: we drove!

EDIT: oh, well, Cyn drove and I navigated. :D

Hmmm...maybe I should ask off now for around the time of it, and adjust as necessary. I definitely plan on making it this time around.
