Darkwood--Into the blackness....

[Seven Words]

When Trina touches the "you are here" dot, a very faint growling snarling series of sounds can be heard.

[Kalindriel Ec'urb]

Kalindriel touches a similarly blinking dot southwest on the map.

She leans in close to listen to the low growling and mouths some words. She stops pressing the spot then utters for everyone, " Chtorrhuulagh comes, I shall melt their flesh and hear their dying gasps, for I am the Wind of Death. As summoned, I come. I honor my debt."

She shrugs. "Lovely'

[Laurel]

The bard listens intently to the faint snarls, then mutters to herself, "Draconic? Too distant to make anything out..."

Then when Kalindriel repeats what she heard through the green dot, her jaw drops. Eyes widening, she summarizes some old stories from her childhood in Darelline, nighttime tales to scare children in to behaving handed down by halflings and dwarves. "'Chtorrhuulagh?'

"The Death Wind, a night terror. It left people dead, eaten away, stolen, or suffocated.

"In Dragonic, the name translates as, 'Wind-bringing-Death."

The bard thinks for a moment then speculates, "We may be dealing with a green dragon here. Their breath weapon is a caustic gas, which could probably do all the things the Death Wind was known for.

"If this map on the door is to scale, it looks like we have four or five days before it would arrive here. So as Annalysi asked, what now?"

[Kalindriel Ec'urb]

"We finish clearing out the tower. We have a few days to prepare for its arrival and a not insignificant force outside. It does not know we await it."

[Led Pighp]

"I think this falls outside the description of 'things the elves can't do for themselves because they'd immolate once they crossed the threshold'. So that sizable force outside... they can handle it."

"I wonder if we should tell them?"

[Clarification please: two different dots were touched. Does that mean two different dragons (or draconic-speaking things) were summoned? Also, I'm not clear if this door actually goes somewhere. It opened... and it has glowing dots on the exterior... seems like it's a portal or something, were we foolish enough to enter it?]

"I don't think this hallway will benefit our quest. Let us return to where we met little 'Trina, and then trace her steps back."

[Sigrid]

[Knowledge (Arcane) check. Is this a portal? Where does it go?]

not a portal, a door with a map/puzzle lock...no one has gone behind, or opened this door further than the crack it popped when the map was put together....

[Sorchat]

I say something in Ignan. [Check PM.]

[Kalindriel Ec'urb]

Kalindriel makes crackes and hisses in reply. [PM back]

[Sorchat]

I fly in front of Kalidnriel. Then I circle around her slowly, looking at her from all sides.

I finally say something short, in Ignan. [check PM]

Kali pouts and in a snit replies in Common instead of Ignan, "What do you mean I wouldn't look good in green? Dragon scale never goes out of style."

[Sorchat]

I sputter and crackle, still in Ignan.

I point at Kali's face and arms, then my fire dims briefly.

"Fine! I'll stick to this flimsy leather until we can upset a black or blue."

[Sorchat]

I fly over to the map. I mutter in Ignan while I inspect it. [Check PM]

[Kalindriel Ec'urb]

Kali waves both hands in front of her in a "no no" gesture while making hissing sounds.

[Sorchat]

I turn to Kali, and hiss. It's the sound of a fire being extinguished with water. [Check PM]

I turn back to the door, and peek through the crack to see where it takes us.

[Seven edited Sigrid's post to answer her question. It's not a portal.]

"It's just a hallway. It keeps going a little bit, and turns."

[Kalindriel Ec'urb]

"Let's get exploring again, then."

She presses forward through the door.

[Sigrid]

"Sorchat, can you remember the way out? Someone should tell the elves there's a dragon coming."

I hold the door open for Annalysei. "After you, dear."

[Katrina]

My eyes widen....

"...did I do that, make the bad dragon come here?"

[Kalindriel Ec'urb]

"Yep."

[Annalysei]

Anna grins mischeviously and swishes past Sigrid.
