...............and I managed to get a ticket: 4th row!
No mean feat either (tho' no credit to me, my mate got me mine) they sold out in 5 minutes flat!
Not everyone's cup of tea but he's a legend in my book and compulsory playing on fishing trips and anywhere else where shoes and trousers are not really a requirement.

Dandelion don't tell no lies
Dandelion will make you wise
Tell me if she laughs or cries
Blow away dandelion
I'm afraid there's no denying
I'm just a dandelion
a fate I don't deserve.

I ain't afraid of no stupid Parrot-head!
Ironically, I have a shitload of Buffet cd's on my hard drive. If you live down here, and are a musician, you cannot avoid Buffet covers.

What a fantastic show!
The Parrotheads were out in force and the colours inside the auditorium and outside at the bars before hand was truly riotous. JB come on to introduce a guest act just who did a few songs as a warm up, and I think was genuinely suprised at how much the Sydney-siders (and those who had flown in from all parts of OZ), had entered into the spirit of things, dressed up, and created a massive party atmosphere. Certainly, comments during the show from him suggested he'd discovered that a 27 year hiatus was far too long and that his following was significantly greater than he'd believed possible.
The show itself was a treat with most of the classic Buffett songs being played, plus a couple that to me at least were unfamiliar. The Coral Reefers were great and the show went for 2 hours+.
The whole evening was a giant party with pretty much the whole crowd singing, cheering, drinking (the bars were kept open and drinks were allowed in the auditorium for the night), beach balls and an inflatable shark which was forwarded onto the stage and promptly wrestled to the ground by Buffett during "Fins"........ yeah no wonder I love it
Finally the proceeds were donated to the Flood Relief in Queensland: way to go Jimmy!

Having seen him now in three concerts, yeah it's quite a show. When I saw him in 2009, the weather couldn't have been less summer like for August. It seemed like November. Yet it couldn't have been better for those who stayed. I'm not into the mystique, my sister is, and it was a great time and he is a great entertainer.
