Zarathrustra, Worm..
I disagree with the idea that Linden's Dead would have been from the 'real' world. I understand how you have come to that conclusion, but I do not believe that her parents - or anyone from the 'real world' - were the 'shades' that Caer-Caveral was referring to..
I believe he was talking about High lord Kevin, who later appeared to Linden in Andelain, and who can well be described as 'grim'.

the difference between evidence and sources: whether they come from the horse's mouth or a horse's ass.
"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation."
the hyperbole is a beauty...for we are then allowed to say a little more than the truth...and language is more efficient when it goes beyond reality than when it stops short of it.

I read the first post of this thread and I was "What? Dead Lena was in Andelain with her parents!!!!!!"
Obviously, others already said pointed that out.
But this is yet more evidence that some of Donaldson's readers actually know the content of his books better than he does.
I get that feeling more and more as the Last Chronicles go on.
