I have always hated my name.
It sounds like someone getting ready to vomit.
But what irked me the most was trying to get anyone to tell me what it means!
"Shah" means, King, that's obvious, but "Rom" was about 50 different things to 50 different Iranians.
Finally, the consensus was that "Rom" meant "Domesticator."
Jesus, that made me hate my name even more!
My friend Kellene pointed out that "Rom" is what gypsies call their race.
That's pretty cool!
Now I'm the Gypsy King!
Plus the gypsy word "rom" is derived for their word for "man," which is pretty much a domesticator, and they're from India to boot, which has strong cultural ties (Aryan) to Iran.
Now I'm watching "Ramayan" about the Indian hero "Ram" (pronounced "Rom", and also other Iranians with my first name spell it "Shahram.") and I'm kind of getting pleased with my name!
Not so dopey after all, is it?
