Big bird man make me head hurt. PLEASE stop or me will smash.
When the man with a 45 meets the man with a rifle, you said the man with a pistol is a dead man. Let's see if it's true.

I liked it. I have watched it repeatedly.

Oh. You seemed to be criticizing it; I thought you hated it.

That explains it. Yes. I may have focused on the negative but all in all I liked the film. I enjoyed it more than II. Its the only one of the three I have on dvd. :-)

If they can't be compared to 1, then why are we comparing them to 1?

We're contrasting them to number one. There's a difference.

"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

1st was best. I remember vividly the scene in JP near the end when the raptors have broken into the control room just as the gang is escaping into the ceiling, and [at least on the big screen] when a raptor jumps up at the ceiling, and looks like it's about to jump out of the screen into the audience, I think everybody in the theater jumped back a few feet, which is hard to do when seated! :hairs:

I know I did! But I was about 12, so that's not really surprising :P

I agree with Matrixman about JP1 being the quintessential Spielberg film. Definitely good.

My wife and I were watching that scene with our oldest son(1.5 yo at the time) asleep between us, or so we thought. When Kyrsten Dunst started to fall, he freaked out. Of course, when we realized he was awake and watching, we freaked out. Now he's 11 and wants to be a paleontologist! Go figure.
