I think it's time we realize it's quite an amazing thing to be on this planet and to be the advanced creatures that we are. We could've been sponges or worse!

The Official Fist Unclenching Thread

Post by Worm of Despite »

Open that hand...wave it at your neighbor. It's time to get some positivity in here!

Certainly there's more to life than complaining in "How do you feel", really complaining in Fist Shaking Thread and the endless word puzzles in Mallory's.

I will not let the Watch fall into a post-modern abyss, so if you have something to be happy about preach it 'ere!

I'm happy it's so frickin' nice outside today and I get to sit on my arse for awhile after a nice day's yard-work. Ah, and then the shower after will be so relaxing. Yes! Life rox.

I'm happy you're happy, LF. :)

I'm also happy that Magickmaker is home for spring break -- *and* I didn't have to drive down to Roanoke to fetch her. 8)

Personally, I always felt How do you feel was for posting about both, bad and good days. But it will be nice to have an only positive thread. Thanks for starting it, LF.

On that note, while I feel he needs a lesson learned for blowing off a major project in English for the term, I am glad Beorn's English teach has decided to extend some due dates in to the next term after his spring break next week, and that unless he screws up in the four school days before the teacher workday to record grades this coming Friday, he will get an "A" in English for this term after all...

(with apologies for the run-on sentence paragraph)

My intention for the thread was Twitter before Twitter. They owe me money. But yes; I was deliberately leaving out the whole picture for comedic purposes. :P

I'm also thankful I'm probably going to inherit this huge house one day (well, 4,000 square feet, brick top to bottom; a yard like no other and a huge lot of woods behind). Now--just need a better job to pay the 600$ monthly bills my grandfather gets. But that's treading into fist-shaking territory. :P

I'm even more thankful I will probably also inherit my grandfather's 2010 Camaro SS.

With everything I've been going through lately (a bunch of stuff I felt was too depressing to write about in here), I've felt like it's taken very little to ruin my days at work.

That being said, I've decided I'm not going to let that happen any more. I'm going to enjoy my work, and I'm going to look for ways to make a difference to people there. There's not much I can do to change people's lives, but I can at least make sure that dealing with the bank is a pleasant experience for them, rather than one they complain about.

Shouldn't there be a Fist Clenching thread before there's a Fist Unclenching thread? What about a Fist Unshaking thread?

Yeeeaa!,,,and while with all the questions..whats up with this " Official"..? ,,especially with things involving fists! I mean..where is this Official coming from?..My god, how many organizations are there just in boxing..each one " official" when it comes to doing things with fists..Whats going on here? Pisses me off enough to make me want to shake my fist at it. Thanks for allowing me the rant. I feel sooo much better now that I vented..I'm happy I did that..Thx again.

Unshaking means one would be shaking to begin with. I just want the person to stop themselves mid-way in the shaking action, which usually means their fist is clenched and about to raise at the heavens. But wait! Don't! Unclench that fist!

Thus my choice of thread title.

I want to drive home the positivity by emphasizing on preventing the fist shaking before it even begins.

A problem solved is a problem made. Don't solve problems. Stop them before they occur!

I had to make the name of this thread have "Official", same as the one it's a play off of, or otherwise why bother? Go all the way I say. And you're welcome.

I'm happy that I spent weeks reviewing different TV's deciding 'what screen, what make, what size, what hertz, what price, what connectivity etc and came up with about twenty different criteria to fullfill. On the way into the store I said to my wife 'wer'e never going to find a TV with all the things we want' and she agreed. I read out my list to the shop assistant and he said 'Yeah - we got one of those' and so I bought it. It took about two minutes. Job done!

I'm waiting for them to install my new tv this morning. The grand basement rehab project is finally nearing completion. I plan on spending the afternoon watching the NCAA tournament. An up day.

I went to church to have a nun teach me Korean, and ended up getting treated to dinner, and arranging a "field trip" to an important Buddhist temple in early May. As my aunt would say, "cool beans."

Certain encounters went better than could have been hoped for. Still needs to be dealt with, but for now, I'm safe in the boonies

Would the official emoticon for this thread be  ? I mean, the whole reason I started the other official thread was so I could use the :x icon whenever I wanted to

And these threads are official because we say so :P

Severe back of neck tickling for Orlion (well this IS the official fist UN-clenching site - if it had been the fist shaking site it would have been a pounding with a blunt object) for using the :x emoticon in the  site.

Doohhh!!!! I've gone and done it myself. Right Peter - :whip:

Oh yeah, peter? Well, da-....er,... bless your witty observation (we need an emoticon that blesses with holy water)

Also, we need an official whipping thread... that whipping emoticon is sadly underused

Did you pursue the exercise out of develish glee at pissing people off or a genuine desire for the milk of human kindness in the form of a smile from a stranger :goodnevil:

(Reminds me of a thing I read recently where it was said that a far more effective way of stopping people from sitting next to you on the bus/train than placing your bag or coat on the seat is to smile at them and pat the seat invitingly. Why is it that we automatically don't want to sit next to anyone that wants us to sit next to them.)

Because we sense that anyone who would do that must be nuts! And will talk your arm off during the course of the trip, boring you to tears with pictures of their (choose one or more) puppy/ten cats/grandchildren....
