spent six hours in emergency today to be finally diagnosed with appendicitis...which I told them I had when I first came in there but would they believe me...Nooooooooooooooo. :P

Anyway, having keyhole surgery tomorrow (unless it gets worse overnight). Wacko!

Catch you all on the flip side. :)

Get better soon Sea! Doing a bit of yard cleanup in the effort to plant a garden. Pulled a bunch of weeds already. It's not so bad but there are lots of spiders in the weeds and I've been freaked out twice now.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Meh.

Had blocked sinuses all last week, congestion all seemed to clear up overnight thurs/fri, but since Friday I've had an odd smell in my nose and still getting a bit of mucus from one side. Not sure yet if it's just taking a while for my sinuses to drain after the blockage or if I need to get checked for an infection.

Tonight, though, I've got a headache and I'm feeling restless. But it could be just not getting enough sleep - I woke up early both today and yesterday.

Sea -- ugh! Feel better soon!

Murrin, I'd go to the doctor to be on the safe side.

Owlie -- sorry, no socks for you. I'm making a cardigan to take to the office for when they crank up the a/c this summer. :(

Busy day today, but steady-busy, not crazy-busy. Got up kind of late, read the paper, cleaned the bathroom, went to book club, did the grocery shopping, and saw "Jane Eyre" tonight (terrific adaptation, btw). Back to work tomorrow...

Exactly. There is nothing like a pair of handknitted socks. Except a pair of handknitted gloves.

spent ten hours in hospital yesterday *not* having my appendix out.
Long story...but for all those playing at home I have acute diverticulitus. Home against doctors orders but I really couldn't stay in. It's school vacations here. Mr seareach has just started a new job...blah blah. Anyway as long as my colon doesn't rupture all should be good. Me think it's time I started being a tad bit kinder to my body!!!

You know, Sea, those fiber crackers are not a bad snack when washed down with the proper beverage...and we know you will be consuming the latter anyway.

You do not want to end up like me. Ignoring acute diverticulitus can lead to a partial colectomy. I had one of those 19 years ago...and Dam-sel still makes jokes about my having a semicolon now.

Ahh, grammar jokes. Just like my gramma used to make. I miss my gramma. Well, I didn't miss her that one time, which is why she's gone now, but I think you guys understand what I'm trying to say, which is, basically, don't play with grandpa's guns in the kitchen.

I once took a Spanish conversation class. The prof, upon learning that I was part Czech (I think I told him I'd like to learn the language someday...), offered to loan me a Czech grammar text he'd gotten from a Slavic languages professor. Whereupon I told him, "I used to have a Czech grammar -- but she died."

<rimshot>

True story, btw. Good thing that class was pass-fail.

Anyway, Sea, glad they didn't have to cut you open and hope you're feeling better soon. :)

And lorin, no worries, I don't knit anything for people who don't properly appreciate it. (Which is why I rarely make stuff for the kids. But anyway.)

Got a bunch of work done in clearing out the backyard in prep of working on the garden then today I went out and got a lovely hanging basket in the hopes that it will tempt the hummingbirds back to the feeders which I cleaned and stocked this weekend. It's starting to look like spring out there. Yay!
