This link should allow those of you who are not on facebook (or who are not friends with me on facebook) to see my pictures I'm taking while living in South Korea this year, and the related comments.

That's who you are?
I knew you were from the Watch when I see your posts on FB but I couldn't match you to a name.
Good to know.
Love your pics by the way.
My brother spent 5 years in Japan and took horrible useless pics that never showed the surroundings.
He'd take a pic of his girlfriend sitting on a bench.
That's it.
They could have been down the street from my house in Massachusetts as far as I could tell.

MW..Thanks so very much for a peek at your surroundings for the next year. I spent 13 months in Seoul, thanks to US Army and did not have it as good as you do now. I am going to assume that you are not in Seoul. Its really good to see so many private cars. That means a prosperous middle class. When I was there, early 70's,,only well to do had their own cars. I hope you get the opportunity to visit many of the Temples. Not a lot survived the War, so if you find an old Temple or two, they are kind of special. I hope all goes well and your expectations are exceeded...just watch out for their kimchee. Their fresh raw cabbage tho, with just alittle vinegerette, excellent...imho...Thanks again.

Lurch: I am happily not in Seoul. I'm in Gyeongju, which is something like 230 miles SE of Seoul. Closer to Busan. And I've never been particularly fond of kimchi. I agree about the fresh cabbage though.
I will (try to remember to) post here whenever I have posted new pictures to that album. There is 1 new picture right now, of the food I had at Seollal (Lunar New Year) with a description. By tomorrow I will have posted pictures of the pizza I had for dinner tonight.

Auleliel, if you get the chance, go to Jeju. And if you do, make sure you go to the smaller island off its coast - can't remember the name, but it translates as small cow iirc. Make sure you try the maguly (sp?) and if you get a chance, eat ocda (ocdam?) - the best fish EVER!

I've added some more pictures, and exceeded the album size limit, so here is the link for volume two of my South Korea album.
I went to Seoul last weekend, so there are a few pictures of that, and also of a historical park in Gyeongju from a couple of weeks ago.

It's cherry blossom time! I've taken a ton of new pictures, and am now over halfway towards the limit on a third album. Here's the link for album 3: South Korea 2011 Album 3
Be aware that a lot of the pictures in this set are rather similar, as I kind of went crazy with the camera (182 pictures in one day--mostly of plants, or of me with plants).

Cool pics. Spring hasn't really arrived here, so we don't have those sights yet.

The vegetation is still somewhat brown, there hasn't been that much rain yet. I'm sure that after the monsoon season (and hopefully sooner), it'll all green up.Vain wrote:You take lots of pics !! Some really cool ones though- I'm not entriely sure if the place is barren or if it all comes to life in summer
No, I only started posting photos on facebook recently, last year I think. I do have photos of most of the major events--and all the trips I've been on--in my life, but not all of them are in a digital format, and not all of them are shared on the internet.Vain wrote:So do you keep albums for every place and year?
