damelon - when i was growing up channel 56 would play music before coming on with th etv stuff. each morning they played city of new orleans. (arlo's version)

i especially remember this during snow days - watching all the school closings near boston. we had to get local school closings in nh either from channel 9 , the radio or calling the school.

of course i had a heads up before that. my dad was a dumptruck driver for a construction crew. in the winter he would drive the sand truck behind the snowplow.

so sometimes around 1 am i would be awoken and told to shovel the drive so dad could get to work.

then a few hours later mom would wake me up to reshovel for her.

i have been blessed to see both arlo guthrie and willie nelson do that song live. :)

so thank you for that memory...

Here's mine, in no particular play or favorites order:
Rush, 2112
G-n-R, Coma
Zep, Achilles Last Stand
Floyd, Echoes
Funkadelic, Maggot Brain
Deep Purple, Child in Time
Dream Theater, Octavarium
King Crimson, Starless
Porcupine Tree, Anesthetize [If Z is paying attention...Alex Lifeson likes these guys, and played on this song]
Iron Maiden, Rime of the Ancient Mariner.

Now I like all these songs, most of them I like a LOT...but I chose them particularly cuz they are ALL very long songs...and if I get to do one damn show of stuff I like, I'm gonna make sure I'm on the air as long as possible!
Sig-man, Libtard, Stupid piece of shit. change your text color to brown. Mr. Reliable, bullshit-slinging liarFucker-user.
the difference between evidence and sources: whether they come from the horse's mouth or a horse's ass.
"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation."
the hyperbole is a beauty...for we are then allowed to say a little more than the truth...and language is more efficient when it goes beyond reality than when it stops short of it.
