Trace Back - SRD's Books
Trace Back on SRD's books, just like the title says. A poster here tells his thoughts on what the reasons or prerequisites of the statement the previous one posted could be and leaves a statement for the next one. Both must be somehow connected to Stephen Donaldson's books, but may be both internal or external, that is, be inside the story or connected with something in the "real" world
Sample:
(post1)The Land reminds a lot of how Paradise is often envisioned.
(post2)Perhaps that was needed because of what Stephen Donaldson wanted to imply - a place so wonderful it must be loved even by those who don't even believe it exists.
...
Starter:
The Illearth Stone was one of the Land's most horrid banes.

Perhaps because those of the Land were apt to recognize such as gifts to those who beheld them, and those who were touched by such beholders.
Lena sang, in a soft and somehow naive tone, that there is something in beauty which grows in the soul of the beholder like a flower - fragile yet imperishable.

"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
-Flannery O'Connor
"In spite of much that militates against quietness there are people who still read books. They are the people who keep me going."
-Elisabeth Elliot, Preface, "A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael"

Probably because that's what the inhabitants of the Land believe in - in the necessity of beauty. That's felt strongly in Lord Mhoram's reaction to TC's words that in his world beauty is considered something you can live without.

Probably due to it's symbolic and literal ties to Thomas Covenant- who himself becomes a metaphorical and literal alloy.
