That is very very cute and touching. I am missing all of you very much and hating being back at work where I have to be sensible.
Let's all start our very own stonedown and leave the real world behind :))))

danlo wrote:(it's The Bird of Paradise, not Burger... :P :P :P )
When you first said it, it sounded not only to me but also to Eric as Burger Paradise, but we did know it by the proper name, which definitely helped us find it. I have been trying to set up an un-reality reality to all of this, as most of the first part is a culmination of truth, discussions, and other strange sources, as well as the eventual outright lies. For example, it was a Burger King, not Burger Lord (which I stole from Good Omens that Eric and I were listening to on the drive back), and Eric never went into the ladies restroom. There was a keypad on the door of the men's restroom, however, and we had discussed that maybe drug deals went down in there when trying to figure out the reason for the special lock.
And I've felt a little bad about the "foreigners" comment, although it was something I either said or meant to say in the Friday drunken stupor to either Loremaster or jonnyredleader. But I have nothing but respect for our two way-outta-towners.

I wish I had time to write it in full yesterday as I'm not sure when I'll have time to finish it, so it may be yet another abandoned writing project. I have no more ideas at present for the rest of the trip in this manner, other than saying that on Saturday morning we had a bad case of debauchulism. So there's one joke ruined if I continue this.
I think I will cut to the chase and just say that I had such a wonderful time, and am depressed now that it is over, and that I'm back to work today. Friday night was such a good time, and Saturday was very enjoyable, spoiled only by a frequent headache and exhaustion and serious drying out. Sunday was mostly a drive home, made all the more annoying by a fire that forced us two hours out of our way, but it was good because of the company.
I miss you all deeply, and really enjoyed the company of those I talked with, and regret not getting time with others. I had such a good start to the fest talking with lurch, and one of my biggest regret in particular was not ever finding my way back to him.

 I've been reading this thread and enjoying.. thanks for the updates and stories, folks. =) A bit of my heart wanted to be there.

(I especially enjoyed Caggy's and CJ's tellings of snippets. lol.)
"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."

Looking at the awesome nature means great regret. I'm sure to return when the weather is more clement, the air is not so poisonous with smoke, and I have a good backpack and tent.
My land seems to be suffering sunbane while Andelain has not. None the less, it was good getting home early as I have no job, lots of excited friends who wanted to hear about everything, and the fact that my altitude cuts a good ten degrees off of the oppressive heat.
I'll try getting a few things of my own posted.

After just (2 minutes ago, ugh) completing a 12 page paper on the nature and structure of intentional communities, I feel confident in stating that we all would make a damn fine group and should get on this asap.
