I'm feeling slightly stupid now - I was thinking about hard modes, and Gift of the Naaru, and I suddenly realised that Mardun has Stoneform - a damage reduction cooldown. That he's never used.
So I've been eating 2 or so electrocutes without a cooldown that I could've been popping Stoneform on, along with eating damage in a bunch of other fights that I could have reduced.

Latest word on the difficulty of Firelands bosses:
- Beth'tilac is the easiest boss, many guilds are 1 or 2-shotting her in Heroic gear and those in lower gear aren't having much trouble either.
- Rhyolith and Shannox are harder but not too bad.
- Alysrazor is hardest of the 4 opening bosses, with a tight dps requirement and a lot of responsibility on raiders moving and getting it right.
- Baleroc is generally considered pretty easy.
- Beth'tilac is the easiest boss, many guilds are 1 or 2-shotting her in Heroic gear and those in lower gear aren't having much trouble either.

You can choose to kill Shannox, Beth'tilac, Lord Rhyolith, and Alysrazor in any order. Once those are killed, you can progress through Baleroc, Majordomo Staghelm, and Ragnaros in fixed procession.
Most groups kills Shannox first because he a) patrols around the whole central area, and b) is linked to most of the trash, which is not trivial to have to clear every few hours. They've bumped the respawn up to 4 hours on his trash now because it was taking too long to clear to him.
I've started making note on things I've picked up about the fights on the guild forums again.

So, I figure I should let folks know what's going on with me and WoW.
A few weeks ago, I created an EU account and started a new character. I've joined a guild after an invite from someone on Maintankadin. My toon is levelling through the Cataclysm zones now, and will be 85 in a week or so.
I'm still not sure how things will work out playing on the new account, so I've not quit my original account on US side yet. The guild wants a healer with dps offspec, not a dps main, so I may not have a place on the EU side straight away. But it's likely that I'm going to find a raid group on my new toon, and I'll probably let my subscription on the US side expire.
This is nothing to do with the people in Legacy - I enjoy playing with you guys - and more to the fact that I enjoy raiding more than other parts of the game, and I'm just not getting to raid at all because of the US time zones and the current state of the guild roster. On the EU side I will have vastly increased options to find a raid group and get to see the parts of WoW I'm currently missing out on.

I haven't decided yet. Like I said, I've not quit yet. And apparently the Battle.net site doesn't want to let me change to a one month subscription, and it's due in two days, so it'll probably go one for another 3 months. (I go through all the steps, into Paypal and everything, and the account type description just doesn't change.)

Can you just cancel the subscription and then reactivate with a new one month subscription (though if you decide to stay on you will lose... what six bucks?)?

Sorry Kysen but I understand why your leaving or thinking about it. We are all just getting home from work when you need to go to bed so yes it does make raiding with us very difficult.
I can not pull the people either for Saturday that Tav did they really didn't want to do Saturday then but many did because well it was the schedule and never changed. I however asked when people wanted to go and even did a full week invites. Saturday just wasn't in the cards for more than 2-3.
I would prefer myself to be starting 2 hours earlier than we are but I am east coast and my west coasters are not even off work yet. So I have to bare late nights. 3 days of my work week I am sleeping 4 hours which is not ideal at all. So I know where your coming from.
I do not blame you for leaving personally if raiding was what I enjoyed the most I probably would have left a long time ago if in your shoes.
I do wonder though would real friend id allow you to 5 man with us on a EU realm?

Arg. Cancelling works but attempting to resub does the same thing as attempting to change. I suspect something between Battle.net and Paypal isn't working.

I would personally much rather raid on Sat than a worknight - and Ky, I agree with everything Kell said. I certainly don't want you to leave, but I do realize that the schedule really sucks for you especially now - and while the schedule probably will change again at some point in the future, you wouldn't want to wait that long to see Firelands.
Someone needs to win the lottery so we can buy an island and all be in the same timezone, or at least not have to work.
