hurry up while you can!
This place is packed with vacation homes that wealthy Texans are dying to get rid of in these tough times... my cabin? cost me 35 grand! I only pay 300 a month and in 15 years it is all mine!
How hot are you where you live? 86 degrees rite now and it will be 56 degrees before sunrise tomorrow!
New Mexico kicks ass! Just think how easy it will be to attend the next elohimfest when you live just three hours from Albuquerque!

"like"?

He probably is the Ruidoso Chamber of Commerce...and considerably less stuffy than the usual lot in those organizations!

Oh yeah, I'm running for mayor next year-- probably as a democrat, since you have to register with a party to be involved in state primaries and I was tired of getting screwed for bei ng "independant."
My issues--
1. statewide possession of 1 ounce or less of marijuana is a misdemenor punishable by a 6oo fine and up to 3 months in jail... proposition:
a. instruct the chief of police not to prosecute marijuana misdemeanors, but to "let them off with a warning."
b. spread the rumor that marijuana is now legal in Ruidoso
c. collect money from tourists while demonstrating how we could have de facto legalization today!
2. Assign an unused public lot to be used for the buying and selling of motor vehicles for the benefit of citizens.
3. Absolutelty forbid and prosecute the police department in all cases of harassing Apaches from Mescalero who come here to purchase liqour! No profiling, no stalking, zero tollerence to all unlawful bias of police officers against the nation of mescalero.
4. Lobby to have the county seat moved to Ruidoso.
5. Petition to Santa Fe to allow subsistance hunting licence in areas where deer populations need to be culled and people living below the median income need assistance with food.
6. Lobby for depression to be included in the state's list of conditions legally treatable with cannabis.
***
As you can see, I have plans to run for governor!

I was born in Bengladesh-- I can't be President. Besides, at that level of power, only the corrupt can ascend. I'd be happy being so good to this state. I wouldn't want to run for congress or senate either; besides I have never held office outside of Amtgard where I was elected Sheriff and ran our chapter.
My taste of politics were bad enough to cause me to withdraw from the game. When they made me a lord many things changed. The game was no longer fun and magical. I'm willing to run for office and, of course, loose-- another novelty act, the village idiot runs for mayor!
And if someone wants to make me Shah of Iran, I'll think about it... really I like being village idiot

Cag, you rule!

I can't offer to run as a running mate as my sordid past would be too much to succeed at election but I would make a great propaganda director.

Let's turn Albuquerque into the new DC!

Step 1: Pneumatically seal the UN Building.
Step 2: Pump it full of "herbal essence."
Step 3: Having ended war, we introduce a resolution to relocate the capital. We offer bags of munchies as incentive to vote our way.

I think it could work!

I think our one rule would have to be no campaigning. The only elected office I ever held was Secretary of my residence hall in college, and I got the job by showing up late to the meeting when nominations were offered. They put me up and voted me in in my absence - the only way to serve!

The best part was, my only job was to take minutes of meetings, and then turn them into fanciful, joke-laden works of near-fiction to be read at the next meeting for the entertainment of all.

Why not? We put the capital in a swamp 200+ years ago. Gods know we could do worse than to move it to the desert.

Altho Albuquerque might not be too thrilled about the idea. It's already got plenty of gasbags.

I think we should get tax credits for owning Donaldson books, and more if we can pass a written tests about them.
